As for the old one, you snooze you lose.
Only if they completed it prior to Tomb of Sargeras opening do they get to legitimately claim "Blood, sweat, and tears. It was tuned to ToS Normal gear IIRC, maybe Heroic but the Netherlight Crucible, Argus gear, and the power surge in the final 3 weeks of Legion before 8.0 dropped were all nerfs.11/02/2018 08:44 AMPosted by JagdtigerThe challenges weren't that difficult if you had gear so I don't understand the "blood, sweat, and tears" players.
Hell, I spent 10 minutes this entire expansion as Elemental on my Shammy and I one-shot the Imp Mother. My brother happened to be watching me do a practice run to get a feel for the spec. I wasn't paying attention and he said "Holy {explative}! You have her down to 15%." All I was really doing was spamming chain lightning. When I killed her it took me 5 minutes to breathe normally again because I was laughing so hard.
I went from planning to get like 6 to getting 24. All because of the overcharge. I just kept doing Argus LFR and making attempts. Only ones that were a pain were tanking specs.
Didn't touch the healing ones though.
And it's not like we didn't know. Blizzard was up front about the fact the Mage Tower would be deactivated when 8.0 went live.11/02/2018 09:11 AMPosted by LorashYa'll had over a year to do it. I'm sorry to anyone who couldn't play the game for an entire year because of some sort of real life restriction but a year is a long time for even the most casual of players to get it.
And they were even nice and allowed people who got kills at the last second, in some cases literally, to still be able to get the skin by keeping the ability to turn in the quest active.
I think they were caught off guard with how much people actually liked them. And since they're always working well ahead of what we're playing, they didn't really have time to cook anything up so far for BfA.11/02/2018 09:15 AMPosted by DrunkovskyI want a new mage tower.

I certainly did enjoy the challenges. Each time I made a kill on a class/spec I barely play I felt a nice sense of accomplishment. Even though most took place after the nerfs were in effect, including the super charge, you still had to play to mechanics and learn to use abilities... the nerfs just made them more forgiving versus one-shots.
My only regret was not gearing up some characters like my Mage and Monk to get some for them and not doing any of the healing ones. But that's on me.
My only gripe is that they were not repeatable so I couldn't do them again for fun.
11/02/2018 07:45 AMPosted by GransysI wish blizzard would bring the mage tower back as a scaling timewalking event. Truly regret missing out on those transmogs.
Patience. The Mage Tower didn't come at the start of Legion. It was in what, like 7.2? We haven't even hit 8.1 yet. Jeez people need to relax.
I have every single appearence from the Mage Tower.11/02/2018 07:48 AMPosted by DerĂ jI hope they don't. Many of us pushed hard to get all we could done before the time line was up. I managed 24/36. It deludes the work of those who pushed hard for it to put it back into being able to be obtained. Like the MoP and Draenor challenge gear, it needs to stay unobtainable.
It should be brought back, removing things and creating some type of artificial scarcity is dumb.
I was 36/36.
I disagree. I enjoyed it.
What I wasnât to big a fan off was the fact that it wasnât âscaledâ and legendaries worked.
Legendaries made it very rng dependent (especially if you did them early). Then they were balanced around ToS gear⌠meaining it was a waste of time to try until you were at least ToS geared (or just uber at your class).
No, it doesnât. Theyâve had plenty of extra time to show off and lord their prize over other players if theyâre elitists who think thatâs all itâs worth. I donât get things because I want to brag to other people (and FYI: no one even bothers to look at your gear and Transmog any more), I get them because theyâre fun to have and work for.
Your accomplishments are your accomplishments. What I do doesnât dilute them at all.
Also, given how much weaker we are now, pretty sure if we were Timewalked, it would be harder than it was for those who did it before.
anything u ask them for they never bring it back in a good way
I hope they bring back a similar concept for BFA
I find it funny that a lot of people who want it to be locked in the past think people that want it back arenât 36/36.
I argued about this, back then, that it was a dumb idea to remove it regardless of how the tuning affects the way the player can do it.
Itâs also funny to see people that complain about the tank MT when they were some of the easiest. I doubly love it when they insinuate that prot warrior was hard in any respect, the ability to ignore pain made p1 easy and spell reflect made p2 a cake walk.
Also to the ele shaman bragger, you didnât do the tower, you probably donât even understand how mother works. It shows with the way you are talking about the fight.
People that call Kruul hard mean when it first came out in April 2017 when it was actually hard in Nighthold gear.
Once ToS was out a few months it was much easier, and by the time Antorus launched they all were a joke.
I hope they bring it back alot people want it and wants the rewards
Iâm sorry you want people to be punished for having a life and only wanting to play a couple of classesâŚ
I really get tired of the âyou donât do it, you donât getâ flames. Why donât people accept that some people donât WANT the damn reward, they just want to do the QUEST and see the STORY? Now yes I see the OP wanted the reward, and in that case, I agree that itâs a challenge for a reason.
But I will NOT tolerate flames and insults because I simply wasnât good enough to meet the challenge no matter how hard I tried, and I ACCEPTED that I shouldnât get the reward, but I just wanted to be able to finish the QUEST at a later date when my character was stronger with better gear.
The one thing that stops me from venting my anger are these two points:
11/02/2018 07:45 AMPosted by Gransys I wish blizzard would bring the mage tower back as a scaling timewalking event. Truly regret missing out on those transmogs.Sorry, but if you wanted it, you should have done the content then. They nerfed the mage tower three times before 8.0 went live. They even had a bug in one of the challenges that worked in our favor that they never fixed (Imp Mother). But more importantly those challenges are designed and balanced around the specs as they are for thaâŚ
If they brought back one challenge from a previous expansion, theyâd have to bring back all the previous challenge modes and thatâs just not happening. A more realistic thing to happen is them continuing to create challenge modes each expansion with limited time rewards. Which works great imo
As they said, the Mage Tower challenge was specially designed for the class specs as they were in Legion, and even more specifically, some of the Legendary gear that dropped⌠and even more to the point, Blizzard would have to make all of the challenges available again, and they wonât. (I sure as hell would welcome it if they DID, but I agree that they wonât.)
I will NOT tolerate flames and insults because I simply wasnât good enough to do the challenge, but would really love the chance to just do the quest without any reward. But as much as I donât LIKE it, I do UNDERSTAND why that wonât happen.

First they kept retuning the towers and even after all the retunes, people were still doing kruul at 850. It wasnât a gear fight, it was a mechanic fight and bear tartare made the fights stupid easy.
No it doesnât. You have the satisfaction of knowing you got it done during that time frame, someone else getting it later has no impact on you. And wasnât there an achievement attached to it? They could leave the achievement off and youâd still have that where someone who got it later wouldnât.
And wasnât there an achievement attached to it? They could leave the achievement off and youâd still have that where someone who got it later wouldnât.
you get two, one for your first, and one for all specs for that class. I wish they gave you one for all 36, but whatever.
Number 1 - why was this thread necroed for no reason?
Number 2 - 90% of content is available for people to go back and get whenever they want. Itâs fine if PvE has some time sensitive things for the people who keep the game supported while others take a break. People like me who got all 36 played all through Legion and were able to get them because we put in the time and effort and continued to support WoW throughout the expansion.
If you take off and do not support the game throughout the expansion, then you are not entitled to time sensitive rewards and trophies. We were told off the bat these would be time sensitive trophies for the pve crowd akin to challenge modes. We knew for over a year and a couple of months. If you didnât care enough to get it done in time, then you didnât care enough to do it at all.
