In Legion, I was a casual with mostly blue/green gear and completed all Druid spec challenges (except resto) with ease. Personally, the MT was not difficult in the slightest nor time consuming. The only thing that was “hard” were the healer challenges, which everyone complained about at the time and I didn’t complete because I didn’t care about the transmog enough.
Now the “challenge” is back and made to be just as “challenging” to current players as it was back then. So they would have to work just as “hard” as we did back then. So they should be able to get the same rewards or at the very least, new recolors for ALL of them and not just bear druids (the hell with ferals apparently ).
I’m heartbroken every time someone asks me how to get my sparkle kitty form and I have to tell them it’s no longer obtainable . I actually want to share the Druid forms and weapon appearances I received back then. Having acquired limited-time items does not deserve any sense of accomplishment or bragging rights, that’s just luck. Overcoming a challenge with skill should be the only barrier preventing players from earning any appearance in the game. Which is being brought back to be just as difficult, so why not the rewards? The hell with “Blizzard’s word.” Most players have argued against their decisions since the beginning. They need to stop keeping their word and start changing mmo standards for the better.
So I am asking Blizzard, please let us share our old accomplishments with friends, family, and anyone else who plays the game. That is what makes the game fun and exciting for us long time players. Being able to relive that joy and sense of accomplishment with new players when we help them get those unique appearances they sought after just as much as we did back then.
If it makes you feel better, I’ll make sure to laugh in their faces and /dab on them in our amazing exclusive feral Druid form that they will never ever be able to get.
I’m an advocate for bringing in new rewards for everyone, not old rewards for some people.
I respect your opinion for sure, and I understand how people feel to miss out on something. However, I do think it’s important that they stick to their promise.
This what makes the sparkle kitty cool. If everyone is a sparkle kitty then it’s worthless and people probably wouldn’t use it to not look the same as everyone.
When an item is held by everyone nobody uses it * cough * Tree mount * cough *
Exclusivity/Scarcity is value. Players assign little value to something that is easily obtained and widely owned. Zulian Tiger would go from being one of the most desired mounts in the game to hot trash if it were (reliably) acquirable today. You are effectively taking issue with human behavior, but humans gonna human.
Also, the overwhelming majority of mogs and mounts in the game are still accessible with time invested. Decrying WoW for setting aside 1% of assets for people who mastered once-current, challenging content is a dumb hill to die on.
Really depended on the spec, the only one I actually got around to finishing was Havoc’s and it was less “challenge” and more figuring out the mechanics and just doing them.
Kind of like a dark souls boss, really. Hard when you have no idea what’s going on, easy when you figure it out.
(Had I known they were going to open up the artifact transmog and give 2H back to frost, I would have done more. )
It took some people that long, yep, including my sister who tried for months. Personally I wiped 20 times on the frost mage one, and about 45 on the fire mage (but that was because I had no idea how to play fire). That was also during Antorus. They weren’t easy for everyone.
There’s always one. Just like you had people complete max Torghast at the start on the first try.
I raged so hard on MT. Those ice shards rime or no rime would just insta kill me. This video is baloney. I never did enough damage no matter how high I climbed the ilvl. I was almost 970 with the 1,000 leg and nada.
You did it on Frost DK? I remember that one. Forgot how I did it precisely but it involved timing remorseless winter with the ice shard spawns so I could burst them down in time. Or something like that, been ages since I played a DK.
I heard later that havoc DHs could just jump over those, thought that was such BS lol.
It would be a valid reason, if it actually happened. It was the reason they held off for so long not allowing the legendary bow from the TBC raid to be transmogged, saying that if something unique was made un-unique then everyone would use it.
Except of course, hardly anybody does. I have multiple hunters and not one of them has the elven bow appearance on. And I assumed that once everyone could easily get and use the firekitty look for the feral druid, everyone would use it, but while there was an initial rush, now its much less frequently seen.
With so many appearances in the game, the only truly unique ones you see are the ones unavailable for mogging purposes. The only way to keep an item seen rarely is to make it unavailable. And GD doesnt seem to like that sort of thing happening.
