Mage Tower - Heartbroken

Many of the people who wanted the mage tower did not play Legion (which is why they wanted it), so they did not know how difficult it was upon release. :woman_shrugging:

I also don’t think that Blizzard gave much thought to it. They saw an easy way to occupy players and they took it. :woman_shrugging:

It’s been nerfed.

That being said - I think they should have made multiple tiers of difficulty. Had the current rewards for the easy modes and the artifact appearances for the hard modes.

Nerfed so much you can’t even tell.

Their goal is to turn WoW into a tiny hardcore game with a cult following.

Return to Azeroth in 10.0 and find it a carbon copy of Argus. Do chores and queue for Lobbies of Chorecraft.

If you’re not a fan of challenges, what made you be excited for the mage tower in the first place?

PTR was fun and still a challenge. They buffed it at release. The jump in level of difficulty was insane.

So your issue is that the challenge is now less easy? Why is that a bad thing?

I can’t speak on the difficulty but I heard PTR was fairly nice balance wise ~ shame they messed with it. This team really needed the points but seems they can’t even NOT over-think on the timewalking stuff. Fun escapes this cold sentient being named Ion.

We had a really hard mage tower that according to you only 1% of the population cleared and that didn’t kill the game.

From everything I’ve learned about you in this thread, you set your own expectations before you’d even encountered the content. In your head you were larking through the fields in Felbear form and the only thing between you and it was the release date and hopping inside for 20 mins while you waited for the cutscene where they hand you there gear.

You entitled yourself to success before the event was even released and now your dreams have come horribly crashing to the ground. That’s the real sting you’re feeling, and you’re as to blame as Blizzard.

You are entitled to be upset about not being able to earn the reward. You can be disappointed with Blizzard, but you cannot demand that everything be exactly as you wish it to be. Mainly because you’re not the only customer and the world doesn’t revolve around you.

I think Blizzard should have done better at providing content that serves all players. I do no however think they should avoid providing hard content just because some players can’t finish it.

10% hp for the tank challenge is very substantial.

If you’re doing the mechanics properly, you’ll notice.

If you can’t handle the mechanics, then the MT isn’t for you. But it’s a great way to train for mechanics in general.

Wish they had the decency to man-up and take responsibility.

Same, honestly.

I’d love to see the numbers on % clear by class versus number of attempts, as well as % that needed to approve an authenticator access just before clearing the tower, and, how many people have unsubbed over the bait and switch they pulled between PTR and Live

You know it won’t happen and the players who’ve beat it already will cry out “don’t nerf it fur duh filthy casuals”.

Why does everything always gotta be some stupid mega easy nonsense? Solo content can be difficult.

I actually agree with almost everything you said. Remove the time restrictions or make it easier… not because they have to and not because challenges are bad but because it’s bad for the bottom line.

Blizz is in no position to be screwing with that right now

a whole lot of people feel the same

i still cant believe they screwed this up so bad

lost for words

It would make a lot of people feel at ease if the challenge were up permanently instead of just 1 week every few months imo

As well as the insane difference between specs, where fury warriors can faceroll the challenge with 2x crusader whereas guardian and resto shammy are 100000x harder

Super easy? No.

Players with upwards of 800+ pulls is not easy. They can tone it down quite a bit and it still be a challenge.

None of the entitlement demands of the elites matter. Nobody who is leaving because of this cares about your opinion. This was supposed to be content to keep people busy with trivial rewards. Instead they decided to show casuals what they really feel about them.

People who came back for this quite rightly felt deceived. If devs thought it was reasonable to demand that mount and mog collectors should do literally thousands of pulls of mythic difficulty content to get those, they are delusional.

Oh, look. The gem market for old gems is cratering. I guess all those people you think don’t deserve to play your game but should pay anyway have left and there’s not even any demand for timewalking gear anymore.

Good luck. You got your wish. The world now revolves around you. Go ahead and preach to the wind, to the empty rooms, about how people who resubscribed should have known they wouldn’t be able to complete it and their money was wasted on your content.

They can’t help themselves. They’re sure this is going to turn itself around.

The challenge from “test your skill” turn to “pay to buy OUTDATED gear” to make it easier . they should block all the old gear bonus and adjust the difficulty, My suggestion is raise the ilvl to 55 and disable the old content gear bonus . dont get me wrong i know there have someone can do it with SL gear only , but if blizzard really aim for those 1% player at the beginning . then no need to announce it like a “public” event . i wont even give it a try to waste my time if this only for expert player.
