It’s a recolor of a tier set. It’s not even a unique set.
And this is more than just difficult, it’s overtuned, frustrating, and doesn’t mesh with shadows abilities.

My own feelings are…
I’m struggling with the Shadow Priest challenge. Having tried it out with the other classes that have the same challenge, Shadow Priest is lacking in so many tools to make this encounter achievable.
Why is it so easy to get through the first four phases only to find out that phase five is mathematically impossible because you didn’t do enough damage to Raest in the previous active phases…like what?
The disparity in the level of challenge from spec to spec is no where NEAR level. Some class specs just don’t belong where they are.
But what’s more, the only thing this accomplishes is me feeling wholly inadequate. It makes me think I suck on a class I’ve loved and played for years alongside my main. And this is a game I turn to during times I feel like that IRL.
I gave up. Switched to Discipline and was able to achieve that and get my transmog for my priest. But I gave up on the twins. Like I said, it’s mathematically impossible for a majority of players, myself included. So I accept that I’m apparently now a scrub who needs to “gitgud” and feel bad about something I used to enjoy playing. Congrats, you’ve alienated players instead of celebrating them.

It’s not overturned. It a CHALLENGE. It’s suppose to be hard.
And I’m sure part of the reason it hasn’t been nerfed is because a lot of people are actually completing them instead of crying about it on the forums.
I know wows given a lot of participation trophies the last few expansions but this ain’t gonna be one of them

People should be asking for the Mage Tower to be up all expansion. Very severe content drought and this is about to be taken away in early January.
Start asking in your damn posts to keep it up longer.
I have no problem with challenging games when they’re fun and rewarding. This is neither.
I can only comment on the shadow priest challenge, but having to farm old raids and spend thousands on gems and consumables to complete a challenge I did years ago (which I did in 3 tries) for a recolor tier set is silly. I’m happy Blizzard is giving people what they want, but the shadow challenge isn’t balanced at all.

You absolutely do not need to farm any old gear to do this challenges lmao what will get you past it is properly doing the mechanics. The gear is a marginal handicap.

I didn’t care for it lol Before I farmed the SoO gear and Iskar trink was struggling hard, but eventually got it. Just felt like it was really balanced around shadows toolkit.
Yeah, and saying you “don’t even know what abilities you’re using” is a straight lie because you actually need to know what buttons you’re using and what abilities are being cast at you.

It’s not that they should nerf it into the ground, the challenge is fine. There’s just something unmistakable about it that pushes it beyond a level most average players are unable to obtain.
That’s the fundamental difference between Blizzard then and Blizzard now. Anyone can make a game as hard as Darksouls, but that game will still only cater to a select few. This is an MMO we’re talking about, it needs to cater to a larger demographic, which currently I feel it does not. The game once again caters to the smaller group of exceptional players that will only be as loyal to the game as the next patch.
