Guess I’ll have to wait for more nerfs, for them to add in a lower dificulty version or kiss fel-bear goodbye which was really the only thing that got me to reup my 6mo a while back.
Physically incapable do to hand tremors induced by adrenaline. Thanks for the only new content in like, half a year to be completely impossible for me after hyping it so much bliz. Much appreciated
I very much doubt they care enough to actually run the statistics. I also don’t see why they would expect that a certain percentage will succeed per cycle given that a player can do close to nothing to prepare or somehow do better the next time around due to the scaling. In other words if you can’t get it done this time there’s nothing to make them or you think you have any better odds the next time it cycles through. That is unless of course they nerf it a little more each time which is probably the worst way to go about it.
But really this whole thing makes no sense from a marketing perspective. Their insensitive is to keep the largest amount of people possible engaged and to bring back those who left but they can’t do that by presenting them with an overtuned, frustrating nightmare. Most people aren’t happy because they completed a challenge, they are thrilled that they got the reward they were after so that they will never have to do it again. That’s just a terrible indictment of the state of the Timewalking Mage Tower, like Torghast all over again.
This event was hyped up so much and intended to give people something to do and look forward to but it turned into a debacle. Doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in their supposed shift in philosophy of listening to the players going forward.
Cool, but I think you actually meant to type “The Mage Tower will remain open for play permanently.” It’s an easy mistake to make but a mistake nonetheless.
I’m glad it’s being looked at, at least, but it’s really strange that they made what was touted as a flagship feature of the patch into something most of the playerbase won’t ever be able to complete. Everything in this TW is purely cosmetic, since the items have such a low ilvl. I got all my stuff within 30 minutes, and after that it was just the Mage Tower. Which, as we’ve seen, many people can’t complete.
For Destro it’s not even entirely a mechanics issue, I know the fight, I just can’t passively AoE down the eggs before they spawn worms and then I have zero chance of generating more shards due to constantly moving out of AoE. The guide said to cast Bane on one to nuke it down via Chaos Bolt but it doesn’t die in a single Chaos Bolt.
And that’s not even counting Tugar using Fel Burst before Spell Lock CD is up, which messes up the entire ‘flow’ the fight is supposed to have. Which would be fine if it didn’t take off two thirds of my HP and was followed up by an unstoppable AoE.
Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, they kind of tossed the third party sites under the bus too. All the guides were written for the PTR version, and while many are still sound in terms of steps, they’re effectively useless now given the changes made before patch launch.
I mean, old gear sets with legendaries and lots of gems plus enchants is something that has been around… well, forever? the very first TW i did, which was a looong time ago, there was a mage with a lot of old gear full of gem slots, a legendary and was also smashing the entire dg i thought this was cool af lol. No joking i thought this was common.
Also no templates, i want to have agency over my char not blizzard decide to me what build is better for X content.
If my math is right, that’s seven classes listed on the changes. Where are the rest? And why wasn’t this tested internally before it was shoved onto live?
Not even close enough to be fair
Put the mount or a recolor of the mount in the shop and all is forgiven since you want so bad that your precious tower to be able for mythic raiders only
Im guessing you have to alternate Fear/Interrupt for that part. I don’t know for sure since I didnt do that as Destro but it might help you out, could be CC immune for all i know.
I don’t understand why they couldn’t have done a few difficulty levels with feat of strength achievements for higher levels, every one kinda wins that way
Just to comment on the Resto challenge it is enough, at least for me. Mages still truck but the delay in time now means overlap is a bit better and the slower time helps out too.
The Blade dancer nerf is gravy but oddly enough feels more like Legion. I don’t even really need the CDs in specific spots now and can be a little more sparse if I want to for the end. Overall that challenge seems more in line with the difficulty. No challenge should have the initial part feel the worst. The difficulty feels like Eldris is now the main difficulty.
