Mage Tower Availability Extended and Tuning Adjustments

I’ve not finished this challenge, but as Shadow it’s the same. I can only interrupt the first, then the third. For the second hand I need to use Dispersion and a fourth hand mustn’t spawn. I don’t know if Balance druid has a strong def CD for that.

The typhoon is for when they are casting, that works.

The boss health or player damage output has not changed. Confirmed with videos I recorded.

Did they say our output was going to change? Cause that’s my 1 thing right now, i could care less about how hard the smaller mobs are to kill, the phase 1 boss is lasting way too long for how chaotic that phase is.

I’m glad for Kruul is gonna be easier to kill, wish I could get there.

Most people building TW sets aren’t using “incorrect scaling”, they’re using Sockets and old expansion systems like Meta gems or different slot DPS enchants that SL doesn’t provide.

If Blizzard really wanted it to be “gear agnostic”, Sockets would be disabled. We know they can disable sockets, because WoD CMs had disabled sockets after Socket-R-Us patch 5.4 had somewhat trivialized MoP CMs.

It is. Kruul’s health is down 10%. 62k now for Bears instead of 68k.

There definitely seems to be some narrow band where Blizzard is willing to overlook slightly better optimized gear (items with three secondaries instead of two having more stats, or Guardian Druid using the Legion legendary for double weapon enchants / double weapon oils), but they’re obviously correcting outliers which reflects that they want skill to be the biggest factor and that gear shouldn’t be making any major difference.

I’d say that more-so has to do with Blizzard not wanting to make knee-jerk changes unless they’re very obviously violating the spirit of the design.

They’re correcting outright bugs. Crusader giving twice the strength what the tooltip says it should give for example.

It’s still a very strong enchant at 46 strength with a near 100% uptime (92 for dual wield).

TBC Gems are outliers, they’re double stated, and have twice the amount of stats that Legion/BfA epic gems do. Notice that’s why they literally called them out very specifically.

I’d say it’s more they realise that with the tuning they gave it, disabling all forms of actual possible improvements would mean it’s a very high end activity and that wouldn’t really sit well with like 99% of the player population.

Imagine getting this achievement after all these insane nerfs that make the game easier. Practically handing you mage tower because a bunch of low performance casuals can’t get past easy mechanics.

Why even post these changes if they are not going to be live?

17hrs later and I can confirm that there are a lot of changes here not live yet.

LOL insane nerfs. They actually made it harder by nerfing all the items/enchants with broken scaling…

Stop being so damn toxic, dude. These small nerfs don’t make the challenges freelot, most of them are still way too hard for the majority of the players. Just like I said before, parts of this community are so begrudging, it’s horrible.

Be a post nerf mage tower Andy.

This is the reason lfr exist because it makes causals feel good… they are just spilling that mindset over into mage tower and nerfing it to the ground to where everyone can get these sets.

In my mind I thought Mage Tower was designed on how to use your class, but if some classes cant perform due to their output of DPS/Heals then its an issue.

They dont want borrowed power, but isnt food buffs technically borrowed power on a small scale? I do like changing out trinkets to help your gain, but it shouldnt help you just to complete the MT.

If anything give another reward on finishing MT faster than others (Like SpeedRunning) and balance/nerf Mage Tower because in its current stage the RNG is so high its like playing in a Claw Machine at the mall. I get it you should be perfect every run until that RNG hits you just right, but this isnt just a “Get Good” thing.

This is not the tuning I was hoping for. I was hoping you guys would look at why shadowlands gear feels bad to wear In here. With it being scaled content all gear should scale the same. Please make this based off skill and not gear. Why else have it be scaled

Holy priest challenge is still completely insane compared to everything else I’ve completed. The hotfix that states the mages are not instantly casting isn’t working or isn’t live yet.

The encounter has major issues with RNG from the rogue’s massive miss chance leading to mages getting like 2 extra casts off because the rogue didn’t do anything from dual wielding hit penalty.
The first non buffed cast still annihilates npcs (but seems to hit for way less on the player) to the point that I have to Guardian Spirit the tank on the double soldier wave in case the mages decides to target the tank which will immediately also get double meleed by the soldiers.
The soldiers themselves when fixated can run across the entire room and with the last 2 melee hits do your entire hp bar if their main hand crits.

They all still complete mess and overtuned… Those minor nerfs change absolutely nothing and half of them still is not active it seems.

Yeah, that’s a thing. Wave 4 hit and Jarod suddenly was gone, there was just a small mushroom cloud where he once stood.

Like if people can’t clear the content in a day they think it’s overturned and way to difficult. Like the challenges aren’t that difficult and I’ve seen many players complete them this week who are above average players on their classes. It’s just the majority complaining because they think they are good at the game but when solo content comes out to test their skills they get a rude awakening and instead of getting better and grinding it out they demand nerfs.
