Honestly? Anyone who cared to. The fundamental difference between the Legion version and this iteration is that in Legion you had the option to eventually outgear the challenges and complete them. Here more time is not going to make any difference. There’s no reason to assume you will have a better chance at completion the next time the event cycles through because nothing would have changed due to the scaling.
One of the main reasons why so many people are frustrated by this version of the Mage Tower is because it’s unlike any other type of content in the game in that it’s not something anyone can eventually do even if it’s months or even years down the road because it will never get easier. Even mythic raids, arguably the toughest content in the game, work like that.
I don’t understand why some people can’t see the glaring distinction.

Video games are not real life. Otherwise the “violent video games made him/her do it” would be valid.
I say nerf them all more. People in crappy 200 ilevel gear should be able to do this for fun. WoW needs to be more fun and open, not exclusive.

Please revert the add change for bears. It wasn’t like that in the original Mage tower and actually makes the encounter more annoying.

It’s too late to do what you should have done at the beginning. I was so looking forward to the challenge of the mage tower, and was incredibly disappointed when I finally, after a few weeks of waiting, got a chance to do it. I hate it at this point, absolutely hate it. But, I was probably too optimistic because this is how you operate.
Tuning mistakes have always been something to deal with, but lately it seems you never get it right. Torghast was supposed to be fun and it was great on the PTR. Then, on release, you ruined it. It was so overtuned that some melee classes simply could not do it. You should realize, by now, that the folks who spend time on the PTR are extremely skilled or content creators. If something is easy for them, the response shouldn’t be making it harder for them. The question should be what an average player would be able to do with enough time.
These aren’t easily forgivable mistake anymore. Repeated issues with tuning speaks to a deep incompetence or misunderstanding about 95% of the player base. The top 5% are fine no matter what you do, but the game has been out so long that I would bet the vast majority of them are NOT long time, loyal players who no longer want to grind out the best gear or spend hours banging our head against mythic difficulty (like the mage tower - most of the mythic bosses went down after fewer pulls as some of these fights and no one had the right gear when the raid bosses went down).
You are letting the tail wag the dog and, at this point, with the player base declining, maybe it’s time to change the way you do things.

I just read the changes. Who comes up with this stuff? Either they are incompetent and should be fired or you don’t care about the game anymore.

Nice - I guess the extra 2 weeks is a kind of [we messed up, here’s an extra chance] but I just wonder why you just don’t let it go live each time walking and even maybe create a ‘timewalking challenges’ bit where in the future, you can bring back other challenges of past expansions.
It gives players more options to mess about in and more engagement in your product.
Just food for thought.

You shouldn’t be able to out gear it though, that was the issue with the first tower. Honestly this version of Agatha doesn’t feel different to the one back when it first launched.
I’m glad they’re not nerfing it into the ground for the 99% of players. After 150+ attempts on kruul I finally downed it. I’m not a top 1% player I just practiced persistence.

The extension is nice and all, but why not just leave it open indefinitely?

Timewalking content should never require player to do hundreds of pulls to get through.
Also it should never require specific gear/consumables/enchants and so on to get through.
It should be nerfed to the ground to be accessible to everyone.

Or you could just learn the fight and progress through it properly?
no changes at all for the disc priest scenario? lmao
Make it permanent its’s the BEST content in the game.
It was intentionally designed that way.
This is great news!
I haven’t had much time to play this week. And with all the player “feedback” induced hotfixes, and my general tendency to procrastinate, I was going to wait until next weekend to try some.
With the extended time frame, I have more time to procrastinate!

Yeah it is timewalking, but it’s still the mage tower. If it wasn’t challenging the rewards would lose all meaning and significance.
Sounds exactly like how it was in Legion tbh, although I did it on Assassination not Demo. Those abilities would constantly be overlapping. Pain in the butt.
Rewards are crap in new tower, so what’s your point?

Guardian druid still impossible without min/max timewalking gear and consumables. You will need to break the bank and farm a bunch of items. well played bliz

Well after slamming my face into the mage tower for a couple days, i decided to go back and finish up KSM… which i started a little over a week and a half ago.
This is what i learned. Im not as good as i thought i was. The content i was doing before (heroic raids and more recently some 15 and 16s) is just really… really easy. Doesnt mean much to have straight orange and pink parses for ilvl healing in raids… its not hard.
I almost never play elemental, so i am having a tougher time with agatha than most people do. I like that challenge though. It’s a really good way to learn the ele spec better.
Gonna try resto sham again too, but i suspect they didnt actually test if a single buffed arcane blitz one shots npcs. The damage reduction of unbuffed and buffed casts doesnt seem to be enough. Not to mention it doesnt even matter if you are now forced ro use a gcd to purge since the buff no longer falls off after being interupted.
