Your title should be changed to “Mage Tower Weapon Skins Should Still Be Available”. Your current title is misleading and can lead people to think you are talking about artifact skins in general when the rest of them are still obtainable.
Anyways, I agree. I used to be in favor of them no longer being unobtainable as it was clearly advertised as such. But with the current iteration of the Mage Tower being way harder than it was in Legion, I don’t see why the original skins can’t come back as rewards.

As someone who left mid Legion because I hated the Legendary grind… (ie I didn’t get the ones I needed)… I’m ok with Blizzard keeping them exclusive. But I also wouldn’t throw a gift into the trash.

I don’t think anyone goes ‘WOW’ anymore at someone in their mog… But they’re a one time item that shows an accomplishment. Like the MoP challenge modes etc. While like you said by the end they were hand outs, if I remember correctly their are achievements and dates that go along with it. Personally I don’t see an issue with that. I look at it kind of like the Hand of A’dal title. I see very few people in game that have that, and I really wouldn’t want that to be handed out either… but that title is nothing more than a cosmetic item.
Eh, transmogs are mostly for the person themselves, I don’t think they should ever be removed.
I have all 36, i never use most because i don’t like most of them.

I get that but challenge should atleast be available.
I would be cool with unobtainable outfits coming back, and to add fuel to the fire so to speak (Since I know many will not agree with the following), I also think the PvP Elite, and any other (currently) unobtainable outfits should come back via the Trading Post.

Yeah, agreed. I may have just not looked hard enough, but I have not seen any recent weapon skins that look the quality of the legion artifact skins.

You wanna talk about a bag of angry cats? I could’ve lived with not having the Mage Tower appearances, only time I had to see them was when someone was using the mog.
Until now, now if I’m on my druid and go to the barber shop, the locked Ghost of the Pridemother colors are going to constanly taunt me every time I go to change my cat form. >:(

Yeah this is a weird thing. If Blizzard doesn’t intend to ever reintroduce something, then they need to make it hidden to those who don’t have it.
Same thing with mounts like the Big Blizz Bear from 2008, still showing up in the mount journal for people without it.

Limited time CM cosmetics have never been made purchasable through vendors. That’s why you’re not seeing it.
Recolors/remodels in the new MT seems like a good way to go, imo.

I HATE that. They shouldn’t be in the list if you don’t have them, because there’s no way to get them anymore. My OCD will go nuts if I unlock every other thing but those stay locked literally forever.

Agreed with this.
They were a proper challenge immediately when they released, since it released a couple weeks before that patch’s raid, so people were in mostly last patch’s gear.
The second you actually got current patch gear, it was no longer a significant challenge.
Same sorta thing has happened with Brawler’s Guild in the past. The timing of the release dictates how hard it is. IIRC the first one launched at the start of a patch and it was fairly difficult. Then one of the later “seasons” launched in an x.x.5 patch, so everyone was already geared from the still-current raid/currency gear/whatever, so it was a joke from the start.
Yeah, I don’t have everything unlocked, but just seeing them listed guts me. It’s the same with the werebear form too. At least guardians got felbear and now have rune bears that use the same model, but still having to see those permanently locked forms is awful.

I think Blizzard is finally moving to the right direction. If they decide to reintroduce the artifact skins via proper challenge, I would play retail again.

If they start handing out rewards that were previously stated to be time-limited, it immediately kills that as a reward system going forward, and kills the motivation of anyone who pushes themselves to go for that sort of thing since they know Blizzard will just cave and add it back later.
I think that would be really bad for the game
