I only liked a few of the appearances. I wasnt able to get 'em due to hardware issues at the time. I’d like a shot at getting 'em, but ehh. Prob not coming back as is. I’m hoping some of them will come back at some point as a reskin or something (particularly the werebear)

They even said they were going to in a dev interview prior to BfA. Too bad they fell through on that, the mage tower was pretty great.

This community is so bizarre.
Unlocking some cosmetics such as Allied Races for everyone is a big win, but unlocking other cosmetics such as Mage Tower transmogs is a big no-no.

There’s huge differences between Races with unique racials that only needed moderate rep farming to achieve and content designed to be difficult and not achievable by everyone.

Allied races are not comparable to limited time rewards when Allied Races stay in the game and others do not. They also don’t require much effort to unlock save for a time-gate. I knew this argument was going to come up. They’re removing the requirement from said things in shadowlands because they’re playable and stupid existing.

Agree to a point. Exclusivity is a horrible thing in games IMHO and serves no purpose other than to foster an even more elitist mindset in people.
A) None of the ARs have better racials than core races.
B) Just like rep, if you grind it enough you’ll eventually get it.

tell that to the countless threads on these forums asking for continued advice because they couldn’t do the mage towers, even overgeared.

as someone who achieved 21 / 36 mage tower appearances I will let you on a little secret that doesnt apply to me. All these people who got limited time stuff from content will never ever allow anyone who hasnt done it to ever get it. Because deep down they need to feel special, they need to brag and gloat. Because without it they will realize their lives are insignificant with no meaning. So they escape that reality by feeling like a legendary hero in wow.

This actually backs up my point. ARs aren’t going anywhere, why give them away for free? If you want them you can always go back and get them, just like old raid mounts and transmogs.

Things being rare and scarce adds value and prestige. Just appreciate that there are things like that out there.
In fact, every expansion should have it’s version of this as an appreciation towards people who have actually plowed through some of these.

Not sure why you’re asking for special treatment for only mage tower appearances.
We had expansion limited appearances like the MoP CM and WoD CM transmogs. They aren’t obtainable anymore either.

Allied races / = limited time rewards.
You shouldn’t be able to ‘go back’ and get limited time rewards. Do you see blizzard bringing back the tabard of the argent dawn among other limited time things? I don’t.

The biggest shame in my opinion is that new players or people who were unsubbed at the time won’t get a chance to try them.
I had such a good time with them, first time in a long time where I was really pumped about something I did in the game. I did 'em all but couldn’t care less about 90% of the appearances, but man they were fun. Not sure a diablo-esque solo experience will scratch that same itch but we’ll see.
tldr: the appearances are ok but the encounters were amazing
raises eyebrow I mentioned the legion mage tower appearances because they were the only things i was aware of
They are gone. Limited time reward is limited.

You can still get that questline from what i heard, the only prize you will get at the end of it is the Green Flame mog to your chaos bolts.
