This has been covered. People aren’t coming back, nor are they leaving, in droves due to the Mage Tower. This is, as you described PvP (which is bigger than the Mage Tower) a side game.
Even if they didn’t touch the mage tower in any form of tuning, there’s not going to be a mass exodus.

I hold them accountable when they mess up, too, as I said before their balancing scale is very terrible. I just hold the masses/playerbase accountable for being terrible, too.
This is a 2 way street, players are also to be held accountable, not just blizzard.
You right, though, I am defending this and letting a compromise of “let legendaries be active” and/or even covenants be active for it, too, as a way of nerfing it to help out the players.

I definitely didn’t read every post in this thread but I just came to chime in that I beat the balance druid one in 4 tries just now.
I used slands pvp gear except I threw on pve trinkets like quantum device.
I used shadowcore oil (is that what it’s called?) and flask. I had no food buff and didn’t even use a potion or drums at all.
I used whatever gems were in my gear already (slands gems).
That’s it. Now I don’t know if some are harder than others or whatever but they definitely are not ALL busted. I didn’t even max slands potential let alone farm other xpac stuff. No exploits or anything weird.

They’re tuning it for some specs, because the fights are balanced differently for different specs

Are you playing it in lazer chicken p1? You almost have to, imo.

its hit and miss if i get to p2 or knocked off in p1. have gotten into 3rd annilation on p2. boss half down and 1 shot because i didnt notice the 4th hit coming. could use some dbm sounds or something. recent pulls are progressively worse. a good sign i need sleep but now i have work in an hour @-@
feels like consumables are mandatory due to p2 being basically an enrage timer.
with consumables and min maxing gear, it “feels” doable but really got to reach a mythic raider’s level of focus.
a side nerf could simply be to up the spawn rate of herbs and other mats for the consumables. managed 9 flowers in multiple loops. there just are not enough. and the ones on AH are raising in prices only a wow token can cover.

Find me an exploit with the Disc priest. lol I completed it with normal gear and dealt with the dysnch issues the boss has for the 2nd time now.
