Mage the best class?

Spoke to a guy today who linked 3 peices of spell strike gear and all these other goodies including his epic flyer and i asked him how much gold he came into the xpack with…

He said "i started with 0 gold coming in to tbc.

I was astonished… i asked him how he could afford all that stuff and he just said “i did SP carries for 3 days straight, charged 4 ppl 40g a pop and they were 15 minute runs so i made about 640g per hour”

I almost lost my blob… i was like “people actually payed that non stop???” And he said yes. Every time he logs in he has ppl insta whispering him for it…

Dam… here i am slowly grinding away on primals and tailoring cloths to gain some gold and this rando Mage, just by virtue of his class choice is making thousands of gold per day with ease…

You don’t need to grind gold for epic flyer though. You only need to complete every quest in TBC. If you start questing at 70 you’ll have like 9k gold, if you leveled to 70 with questing you’ll have about 6k

Well of that statement doesnt contradict itself idk what does…

I lvld to 70 just questing and had nowhere near 6k. I had about 2.3k and that was selling half the quest rewards. Where do you even get these numbers?

The gold earned per quest at 70 goes way up.
It’s no where near as difficult or time consuming to earn gold this expac, and i am deep resto.

At 70 most quests i see offer 9-11g. Thats a grind and a half getting epic flying with that considering a lot of these quests have abysmal drop rates or spawn rates

This post wasnt about how i can make gold. The story this mage told just had me in awe of what mages can do

Those drop rate quests provide vendor drops and the occasional BoE.
I won’t have my epic flying for a while, either. I was fortunate to have enough gold from Classic Vanilla to get basic flying right at 70.

I like mage cause i just 1 1 1 1 1 1 all the way in fights and watch movies.

I got to 70 and made a little gold and had about 2.8k. Lvld Tailoring and got epic riding and basic flying (i was boosted)

Now im down to 400g again. Id love to make 640g per hour lol

Haha don’t we all man! But that’s part of the classic experience.

after you level to 70 and THEN complete ALL the quest you haven’t done. In every zone.

You said questing to 70 shoukd give you 6k. It doesnt at all

I said starting to quest at 70 gives you 9k
And leveling via questing to 70 and then finishing quests is 6k

And before that i said
You only need to complete every quest in TBC

Sigh… bruh…

Just stop. Thinking that doing every quest in the entire xpansion isnt a grind?

It isn’t, all quests are different enough, different mobs, different zones, different objectives. And you can, WOAH, read text.

oh we’ll see what you ahve to say consume prices sky rocket because they removed layers.

Cheesing content/mechanics (or cheating via gold buying & such) totally ruins the fun of a game for me, so I don’t mind taking the slow, traditional road & enjoying the journey as intended by the original developers. I don’t view WoW Classic as a mad-dash race, a competition, or an e-sport of any kind. Your mileage may vary.
