Cool, now it can be treated like some other specs that Blizzard left in the dirt for expansions in a row. Class has way too much and it’s time for that to end.
Well maybe we’ll find out when there’s actual PvP testing in beta.
Except for every spec of Hunter, Shaman, Death Knight and Druid.

Mages are in the best spot of any of the classes I test in beta.
You gained the ability to have Ring of Frost and Ice Nova, but also added a 5 second root to cone of cold that had an 80% snare when expired.
The re-design of frost is honestly insane.

The latter part of your post, you need to give up Ice Nova to have the root on Cone of Cold.
Honestly mate, mage felt really awful to play in Beta and it felt really… for lack of better words, “rail-like”. Felt way too simplistic. Reading the forums in feedback, it is the only class feedback from a blue post that doesn’t have a single like.
I’m sure new mage players will like the feel, but having played a mage since 06, this is the worst it has ever played. No complexity in it – frost bolt turns into Glacial Spike. Can’t bank empowerment. Can’t use Comet Storm unless it is “proc’d”. Blizzard cast on target only, Icy Veins gone, Ray of Frost our “nuke”, but if someone outranges you, GG. Can’t Icy Flows with it.
Truth. Insanely bad.
Double Ice Block and Double Barrier feels really cool though.
Maybe with the pruning of multiple CC from every class may make it less painful, but being able to be peel away from melee is going to be even trickier.

You used to have to give up ring of frost for ice nova.
But hey, agree to disagree. It feels really fun to me, better than it has felt in DF/TWW, still doesn’t beat LK mage but that is a diff game.

I literally watched supatease on his copied boomkin with PvP gear get one tapped by a frost fury fire mage with template gear last night in beta skirms so ya I think mage is more than fine.

I don’t want to be powerful, I want to be fun, TWW killed the fun of Arcane for me in return for massive power and I hate it.
