So im a new player to the game, i tried some classes and im torn between frost/arcane mage or fury warrior, im a casual pve player i dont plan on going hc or anything, so which one is more noobie friendly?
Maybe frost mage is ok with a water elemental pet, but it’s nothing like beast mastery hunter pet for survival in leveling and max-level world quests.
Mage in general is going to be very squishy with limited combat self heals. If you’ve narrowed it down to mage or warrior, I’d probably go warrior just for better survivability.
Warlock. Thank me later
Warrior obviously!
my only fear with hunters is getting assigned to do mechanics, i know everyone got to do them, but im on meds that limit me a bit and im afraid to F up
Warrior, leap and charge are just so much fun
Frost mage is better without the pet. It’s super easy to level as Frost.
Your knowledge of Mage is clearly from about a dozen years ago.
Mages are just as “survivable” as Warriors can be at lower levels, so you’re very wrong here.
Welcome to the game, Braogarr.
Both mage and warrior are good classes so it’s up to you to choose which you like best starting out.
*Edited: We can have up to 60 characters in this game so you can create one of each class, play them all and see which you prefer.
All the classes are fairly easy to learn and practice will make you a master so they’re all “noob” friendly, imo.
GL and have fun.
We can 50 characters all on the SAME server. The server limit was lifted a long time ago.
I currently have 38 on a single server, both Alliance and Horde.
Edit: Also, there are 13 classes, so if the limit WERE 11, you could NOT have one of each.
However, that is no longer true. I have multiples of every class on a single server.
My first character ever was a mage. It’s really not my style though. Between the two of them, I would pick warrior.
Wow, I didn’t know that. Wait, I tried to make a DH on Area 52 but had 11 so had to delete my drac’thyr to make the DH.
Are you sure?
100%
I have 38 on a single server right now.
You can only have 1 Drac per server, but multiples of everything else.
Edit: And yes, I have an Alliance and a Horde DH on that server.
k, I’m going to try this again on Area 52.
That annoyed me that I had to delete the drac because going through the training zone for it, there’s a glitch which made it take forever to finish one quest.
I’ll post more on this if I’m unable to make another one on Area 52 horde side.
I only play horde on Area 52. Idk if that matters. Just thought I’d add it in.
You won’t be able to make more than 1 Drac. I literally just created a second Alliance DH and it let me so it’s not that.
Edit: Just adding this link, which shows this change happened in 8.1.5:
You can find it under the heading “Characters”.
I just did it. You’re right. Idk why I couldn’t before or maybe I could and didn’t notice something and thought I had to delete it so that’s probably it.
Well Tyvm! I learned something today.
You can actually have 60 characters on an account now and up to 50 characters on a server I believe.
Ty for that. I have to edit my other post again now.
Yeah, they just increased it during the DF prepatch because they added mages, priest, and rogue to all races, and dracthyr were added.
I don’t know, there isn’t much to any class, spec, in this game, it’s only when you do intend to go to higher difficulty content that the differential is made apparent.
For now if you are just going casual and not want to hate life, I think frost and fury are fine and dandy. I fine Arcane a tad weird.
Play around and find what you enjoy.
This is correct. I just tested it on my “large” server. I had to create about 10ish alts, but once I hit 50, the “Create” button disappeared.
I hadn’t seen that anywhere. Good catch.
