I’m seeing lots of threads trying to spark discussion and get an idea of peoples opinions. I made some stawpolls (For the first time ever. Hope I did it right) for topics that I see a lot or am interested in. I might add more later if people want them. I’ll edit in results later if there is decent participation.

Q1.They should put it into classic to make it more authentic despite difficult implementation.
Q2.Server on Battlegrounds.
Q3.Yes. It was in vanilla so it should be in classic.
Q4.No sharding. I’d rather sit in queue or I won’t play at all until sharding is gone.
Q5.This is an outrage! I will not have it. #Nochanges.
Q6.Needs to be reverted to a previous version so that threat matters more.
You mean ‘originally in vanilla’. It’s still unconfirmed if it will be in classic as that might require making changes to the system that some might not even view as positive or necessary. For disclosure, I’m not a fan of spell batching. But I respect that there might be many more than me that want it to be in classic as it was in vanilla.
I think the question itself and the use of ‘authentic’ for that question option make it clear that it was in vanilla.
Same reason we would vote on the rest of the polls. Votes don’t matter. But the OP suggested the straw polls would be for conversation starters. Beta is a good conversation.
Na, if Classic is ready for beta, I say, release it. Even after launch they will still be tuning things. Why postpone launch for a beta when Blizzard never listens to beta feedback.
If you call that trolling, then I guess so, but one possible reply to “why do we need a beta”
I am indifferent about a beta. Doesn’t matter to me as long as Classic launches on schedule.
Blizzard does not look at the beta phase the same way people seem to portray with their postings about beta though. If you think the beta “preview” players are there to improve the game. It’s not happening. Blizzard doesn’t listen to beta feedback and most are there to get a jump on their decision to play or not.
Most of the answers are pretty obvious if you want a real recreation of Vanilla. The only one that might be a little muddy is xrealm BGs. Personally I really miss seeing the same people in BGs all the time. Xrealm BGs are more convenient but it compromises the community aspect of PvP somewhat.
That is because betas are not used for ‘feedback’ on what systems should/shouldn’t be.
Just in case you don’t know this (I am strongly assuming you don’t), betas are used for bug testing and numbers testing. The only feedback that they listen to is when you tell them such and such quest is glitched or such and such ability isn’t working correctly.
They don’t have beta tests to get peoples feedback on how they think such and such class should be played, and it is really silly to even suggest that is what it is used for.
If they have a beta test it is because they want to stress test the servers or have a much larger pool of people there to make such all quests and spells are working correctly. I find it hilarious that you think someone can be for or against a beta…it’s a bug test there is nothing to really be for or against.
Edit: Also, just because YOU might not bug report in a beta and you waste your time on there doesn’t mean others do. I have gotten into 4 betas in WoW and every single one I make sure to bug report and whenever they had a new build for the beta the bug I reported was fixed in the next build, obviously I wasn’t the only one reporting it but that is how they get their info.
Honestly betas aren’t even used for any kind of testing anymore. It’s rare you see a game with actual differences between the beta and release versions. Betas are really just used to generate hype for release.
