In Classic, Mac users had an option to use the command key as the control key. This made the user experience similar, since the command key is larger and situated next to space bar on Mac keyboards.
In TBC, I see no such option and the command key seems to have no function. When I try to key bind with the command key, I get an error message in the key bind window stating “Can’t bind mousewheel to actions with up and down states”.
Has BCC dropped support for Mac users in this regard or is there something wrong on my setup?
Please advise.
Thanks @Shjiva, I’ll look into that.
I submitted a ticket regarding this issue. Response was at least encouraging:
I just received your ticket where you are having using the CMD as one of your key modifiers in wow. This issue is currently under investigation and is on our radar. I do not have any ETA which I can provide however I do hope that we will have an update on this in an upcoming patch or hotfix soon enough.
I am unable to command+tab to other applications using Karabiner. Is there something I have to set up for that?
It’s not a perfect answer, but using the Bartender4 add-on solved this for me for now. When you configure it via the /bt command and set key binds it recognizes command as a “meta” key. It’s the best solution I’ve found that still allows command-tabbing out of the game, until Blizzard or the ElvUI team come up with a fix.
