M+ season 1 is fine, tbh

Tbh it kind of sounds like you were able to brute force through other players making mistakes as rsham, which is nice but at the same time that points more to dps players needing to do their part to stay alive.
However, i’m not a healer main so if you’re telling me this season was worse comparatively as a healer, then i’ll take that as new info

Bc i’m not. I’m specifically saying let’s hold off on the doom going into the new season bc this one was better than expected

Always take the feral druid

Yep, but that just means this season was harder to PUG unless you played a meta spec. That’s my point. And while yeah, I have friends to do keys with, they’re not always on, and it can be frustrating to want to do keys but when you PUG on a spec that can’t brute force through other players making mistakes, it can feel very frustrating to understand what to do in the dungeon and wipe to mechanics that you know what to do for, but your class/spec simply doesn’t have the toolkit to deal with.

So I participated less this season because my only options were to wait for friends to get on, or try to PUG on class/spec that couldn’t brute force through other players’ mistakes. Or play a class/spec I don’t enjoy playing. PUGing was just not a great experience this season unless you played a meta spec.

I don’t think it was worse for healers in general, but I definitely think it was if you enjoy playing specific healing specs over others.

But like I said, the upcoming changes for certain specs look promising so I’m hoping it’s better in S2. It depends on what the dungeon mechanics for S2 are like, too.

I think TWW S1 is just about the worst season I’ve played for M+ to any “real” degree. Plenty of hamfisted RP, poor tuning, bugs, and overall bad dungeon design compounded by the key squish.

The sky hasn’t fallen but that also doesn’t mean this was a “good” season by any stretch of the imagination.

Fwiw KSH discipline priest for this season. So I did my time.

agreed. worst season i been a part of. and i been a part of them all. all my friends quit m+, my guild members all stopped after the 1st month. pugging is horrific so i quit after the 1st month as well once i got my achievements, mounts etc…

trash season. dead.

Idk if you saw my reply above since i edited it in but gist is i’m not dooming about s2, i’m actually doing the opposite. Sorry if that didn’t come across well in the post.

I considered calling it quits after KSM but went ahead and got drunk enough to do 10s.

It’s fine now but man the start of the season was bad, they had crests wrong and it was super hard for me to get into anything past an 8 as a pug or 7 or whatever the ceiling was early on.

It’s one of those “it’s fine now and in fact not that bad” things kind of like the Legion expansion was. Started out terrible. Through persistent changes it was brought back to being “mid but not that bad.”

Didn’t get a notification for that but the original post made it seem like your expectations for S2 were that it was already looking bad from a design perspective.

Added a 2nd edit to OP to clarify my stance

If you get drunk again, I can help you get your foot in the door with 12s.

lmao I appreciate the offer and will certainly consider it. Thanks. My liver probably dislikes M+ more than any of the rest of me.

Do u have my tag?

yea i was never a fan of m+, like ever. im launch old school. so dungeons (stepping stone to raid) then raid. m+ always left a stale taste in my mouth due to the fact that the end game gear was there, it was spammable, then you upgrade it etc… it just burnt me out. i only had time to do all the casual fun stuff and mythic raid.

but since i quit mythic raiding 2 years ago, i thought i would just cap out in m+ and do all the casual fun stuff and get my aotc and screw mythic raiding. but then tww season 1 changes came and everyone quit, and pugging is unbearable.

blizzard really gotta look at changing things back to they way they were from sl>df if they want people to return and metrics to climb, cause this season is a massive flop.

Don’t think I do.

well, the season is basically over lol, I know there might be 6-8 weeks left but there’s typically a pretty sharp drop off by this point, and that’s natural.

The drop off week to week for a while for s1 actually looked very normal, no crazy spikes one way or the other since there is no such thing as “push weeks” anymore.

Being fine in pugs is subjective. If you’re trying to join +12s and you’re 2680 rating like me, you’re getting too many people that don’t do those things. If you’re queueing for them with a 2800-3000 io then I imagine you feel just fine about it. My sample size is small, but every 12 I have tried has gone exactly the same. Some DPS don’t kick and don’t use their defensives… there’s been one in every group and that’s all it takes. I even joined one labeled completion so I could get the practice, and that’s the one the mage left within 5 minutes.

Yeah, I get what you mean and a lot of it comes down to group formation. I’m not even talking about inviting the highest score for a carry, but looking at their total run history. Someone who only timed 30 keys all season vs 100 is likely going to have a skill difference.

People who timed a GB or SV on a 12 are likely going to be much more reliable than ones that only timed DB, Mist, and Ara on 12.

There’s multiple metrics you can use with RIO. Problem is too many people only look at the score.

This is rich, considering one of the most prevalent conversations during all of Dflight was Very Good Players Who Are Better Than You running 4 DPS + 1 Tank for Mid-Low High Keys (17-22) and Players Who Are Not That Good complaining about how this style of gameplay somehow affected them, creating the LARGEST complaint of M+ during Dflight which was;

“As a healer, I should never be expected to DPS” , “Healers should always be healing”, etc. You, the players, absolutely did this to yourself. I have several posts pre-TWW that detail the exact problem people are experiencing now while they whined, cried and begged for harder dungeons.
