M+ season 1 is fine, tbh

There was and is a lot of “doom” about the state of m+ this season, but…it isn’t nearly as bad as it’s made out to be, imo.
If you just work your way up key level and don’t try to leap from 10’s to 13’s or anything like that, then it’s pretty much the same as m+ has always been.
The dungeon pool also ended up being more fun than expected.
With that said, maybe worth holding off on the “destroy everything” button going into s2?
Edit: part of what inspired this is constantly seeing talking heads bash the state of m+, and concurrently seeing reduced player participation. It seems like some of that reduced participation may be BECAUSE the talking heads are preaching how bad/not worth playing the game is right now.
Edit 2: my point is this season ended up being fun, so we should hold off on dooming season 2 early, because i think they’re on the right track

It was not very good but I’m glad I put up with it and got my things and stuff.

The irony in these two lines did make me giggle though.

Yea i enjoy it sad that i broke my hand and now only restarting my climb again now that i got the surgery but its pretty good.

Blizzard gave us the more challenging M+ Season that everyone was asking for 7 months ago. We now have more rot damage, but it combined with missed kicks makes an experience that is extremely punishing for misplay.

Dungeons feel pretty casual as long as people are pressing interrupt and stun.

It’s insane that pretty much the only thing that holds people back is pressing 2 buttons

Agreed. The only other season i pushed was df s3, as enhance, and the prevalence of ohko mechanics was brutal. This season’s shift towards rot, AND removal of “push weeks”…i wish the player base would zoom out bc it’s been a pretty good season imo

When I was playing with friends overall the only keys I didn’t find fun were stonevault and city of threads. The removal of push weeks was great and the recent crest accusation change should make gearing smoother going forward.
My major complaint would be on the pug side which the stun kick change really trips people up.

Pugging being gridlocked at 12-13 kinda kills it

I’d argue that that isn’t a problem specific to this season, but that it’s worse this season due to reduced player participation, which can again potentially be linked back to players getting the impression it’s not worth even trying. The negativity chasing players off of even trying becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

you: this m+ season is fine

also you: it’s worse this season due to reduced player participation

bro. lol.

It’s definitely a lot easier now than it was at the beginning of the season. With tuning passes and people being better geared thanks to huge infusion boosts with the anniversary event and knowing the dungeons better.

The point of the post is that players were scared off by talking heads saying the season would be terrible. The content/season itself ended up better than expected, but the problem of low participation because of early impressions caused problems on its own.
You’re not understanding what i’m actually saying if you think that was a contradiction.

wait wait wait, so let me get this straight. you think millions of players just read some random post online and decided to not play m+.

really bro? really? lmao.

you cant fathom the idea that a lot of people tried, found how awful it was and stopped trying cause they aren’t gonna continue to punish themselves in bad content?

ironic that you think its not a multifaceted issue

:person_facepalming:

and you might live your life online, but truth is most average players dont, they dont even read patch notes. they tried m+, found it lacking or too punishing and stopped playing.

Only a few loud people were asking for a more challenging season. Most M+ players were very happy with DF season 3.

Except it’s not seeing reduced participation.

I think a significant chunk of the players who would push 13’s and up watch wow content creators, yes, and make decisions based on those creators’ takes.
I also think the season began harder but as always nerfs in early weeks made things more approachable. However, i still see creators pushing videos regularly about how bad it is, and frankly, i disagree. I’ve added the caveat of “in my opinion” to nearly everything i’ve posted, which makes your dismissive facepalm emoji you use as a signature all the more charming.

and thats where people like you fail to be as smart as you act or think you are. those people are not the majority of players.

More like the opposite. The players who wish they could push 13s and up watch streamers as a way to experience it vicariously.

As long they’re creating content that is oriented towards EA sports content will be like it is.

But again not all content is for everyone.

Madskillz just posted a vid that showed lower-than-typical participation for a first season in a new xpac.

I don’t understand why you decided to be immediately hostile, but i recognize that 13 and up are already, as a starting point, around 1-2% of the player base. Which is why, if any portion of that subset gets scared off early, participation will be low.

I’m just saying, i’ve been surprised to find this just as fun as other seasons, despite the early predictions, and contrary to some vocal naysayers.

Stop listening to streamers. They don’t have access to data that we don’t.
