This! What a succinct and perfect comment. +1 100% agreed.
I’m not sure what you mean by “anymore.” You’re on a Classic toon, you should know exactly what existed “back in the day” lol.
M+ unfortunately is content it’s a forced funnel times consuming trap of content.
People must like it since they like doing the same content with a few twists… Or it’s an easy out for development to squeeze as much reply out of the same content and to keep it excited lock top gear behind it.
Not a fan, pretty indifferent on the M+ and the people that think it’s actually fun…
Eh I’m not sure about that. I think 50/50 is a good split.
Problem is it’s 90/10 atm (or worse)
Mind linking the source that states statistically the majority of players dont like m+?
This is incorrect. Raiding and pvp have been the only real form of content once the story is over for a very long time. Legion, and to a lesser extent MOP changed that with challenge modes and later M+ introduction. You’re describing raid logging. Raid logging being the only content to do is what made me quit in the past since once you were done raiding for the week, there was actually nothing left for you to do at all. No story, dungeons were irrelevant, and if you had enough gold farming was irrelevant as well.
Content is content. Just because you write a page on why you think it’s not doesn’t make your subjective opinion true.
Sub.jec.tive.
9.1 M+ participation is less then the end of BFA according to Bellulars numbers on the metrics which is a big yikes. Statistically speaking most players join an MMO to do content which is progress through the story and complete aspects of the game so they can move onto the NEXT thing.
M+ is a system that doesn’t speak to the majority of MMO players which is why Boosting is massive. People pay for boost on activities they don’t want to do and because of that M+ Raids and Arena suffer for the people that enjoy that part of the game.
The problem is that people cry about the difficulty of anything uninstanced. People are literally crying it is too hard to get to the entrance of the raid, even though you literally just ride your mount there. You just ride your mount there with a barding equipped if you’re a DPS spec and maybe throw in a little zig zag.
Even instanced content is cried about too, if people think it falls into the “casual domain”. People went nuts about Torghast in 9.0 to the point it got obliterated from orbit. Revamping Torghast so that people would stop crying about it was obviously a design focus for Blizzard that sucked away resources from other parts of the game just to make the content enjoyable for high-end players while squelching the complaints.
WoW is mostly the game that the playerbase wants, or at the least won’t cry about. Players want grindable easy open world content without a lot of substance, and then want challenging instanced content that is exactly at their level of preferred difficulty. This is what keeps players subbed.
Another thread trying to invalidate m+ because OP doesn’t like it.
This one is worse because now the OP has a “fact” based definition of what “content” actually is.
Get your popcorn out and enjoy!
Holdup real quick, I’m making a video about how M+ is the best thing Blizzard has ever done and has seen 8 billion unique players since its inception…and since it’ll be on YouTube, that means its true, yeah?
Edit: I once saw a YouTube video that claimed the Earth is flat. Screw science, YouTube said it…it must be true.
No I wrote what content is in the simplest definition here in case you missed it.
If you can’t complete it and are never done, it isn’t content. It’s just a chore or task in which you do.
This is exactly it. “I don’t like it so it shouldn’t exist” - it’s a lazy subjective argument. Well I have good news for you, OP! The new co-lead of blizzard entertainment is a high end player, that includes M+, so you’re stuck with it like it or not.
can not agree more, we need more things outside of dungeons, i did not start playing mmorpgs to sit in the dungeon 24/7 or to raid log a couple times a week.
I can not elude to numbers, but do wish wow would post a core account to mythic
Source?
You got everything you needed from every dungeon or raid on your first run before? Presses X
You can choose to be “done” wherever you want to. For many it’s KSM, AoTC, CE, or whatever pvpers get. If you choose to keep going for no reason other than gear that’s on you, but it’s not a lack of completion in the game.
Gear though PVP or raid if you prefer, both are viable though less convenient. (And as always, doing multiple things is the best way to gear)
According to GD most of them actually do want to do those things but feel like they can’t because of the rating requirements for gear and the lack of solo queue.
If you can’t complete the dungeons, at least I understand now why you hate m+.
If it’s not new or can’t be completed, then it isn’t content. M+ is an ACTIVITY you do over and over again which is not content. Just like doing the same boring daily over and over isn’t content. You are doing an activity. Which many of us hate these activities and wish the game had some better depth and feeling to it where you can complete task and move onto something else.
M+ is unfortunately new content, not super new, but it is content the changes weekly and depending on the key level.
Do I like M+ no. Time vs rewards suck over all.
This is from player perspective who wants new content , from a design stand point it is brillant
Zero work put in , and you have players chasing your progression carrot. ![]()
