M+ gearing is too OP!

On Shadowlands launch people complained PvP was the best way to get good gear. Whatever happened with that? Did people not reach their 2100+ rating for their 233 weapon so now they’re onto attacking m+ gearing? Raiders should just stay in their lanes and stop attacking other forms of content.

As opposed to the 99% who are just partially clearing Mythic Raiding?

Sorry… I just had to laugh at this because I just go mocked in some other thread for ONLY being 3/10 Mythic.

3/10 Mythic is just a hobo casual now. :stuck_out_tongue:

It is op, and I enjoy it a lot. Agree with everything you said but since it is convenient for me I don’t want it to change, hehehe

You’re trivializing the validity of this argument, by hyper-focusing on the 0.001% of it that’s true.

So… you’re not wrong. But what you’re saying is misleading.

a huge chunk of regular raiders mostly do it for the gear

thus the big dropoffs in participation when peeps hit walls or have already geared up to their goals

I don’t get what you’re saying. People made the argument that PvP gearing was too easy, especially concerning weapons. It’s why its being changed next patch.

You don’t need to be gladiator, 1800 rating is easy to get and gives 220 gear.
And m+ was heavily nerfed, it only gives gear once a week now from Vault, if you’re lucky with drop. The further you get, the lower the chance you’ll get anything that week.

Your initial statement made it sound like you disagreed with the fact PvP’ing was too easy IN GENERALL … simply because getting the VERY BEST GEAR requires a rating most people will not attain.

MOST PEOPLE didn’t so much care about i233 gear in the first month of the expansion as i200. edit to add: Especially when you further break this down by the fact it’s not all-or-nothing, 2100 or nothing. i200 was afk-easy to attain, and to upgrade that gear only requires a 1400 rating, which is also incredibly easy.

Clear it up?

Yeah, you’re right it’s a slightly fallacious point, but I was making a joke. It was a halfhearted post, because there were people making that complaint (about the weapon), and there were people also complaining about pvp gear in general easy to get, even with getting certain rating. so I made the joke they’re not skilled so they went to the next place to attack.

we JUST had a gear drought and everyone hated it, do you REALLY think that another one is something good for the game?

even then as it stands, pvp is INFINITELY more lucrative than M+ right now. at least with M+ you gotta rng something useful, with PvP you just outright buy your BIS

I’d be surprised if anyone didnt understand your point. He’s just being pedantic because he knows you’re right.

Quite sure no one is arguing for a gear drought so much as WE ALL WANT one thing… in EVERY.SINGLE.ASPECT of this game:

BALANCE!!!

No one wants a gear drought, what we want is some semblance of putting “this much time to get an i213 over here” to putting “this much time to get an i213 over there.”

It’s kind of like Raid tuning. YES-- there will always be someone at the bottom. No RATIONAL person is arguing against that.

What we’re asking for is that the difference between the top an the bottom never be more than 5%.

It’s currently around THIRTY PERCENT. That should NEVER HAPPEN. We got a hotfix for effing ANIMA. A HOTFIX, almost 6 months into the expansion. They couldn’t wait 3 more days???

But raiding, M+, gearing, tuning… we have to wait 9 months to “collect enough data?”

Which one of you white knights ACTUALLY STILL BELIEVES THAT?? It’s sloppy and inexcusable. PERIOD.

We should be getting almost invisible, 0.5% tweaks EVERY WEEK.

You sound upsetti spaghetti. You chosen route to gearing isn’t going as easily as you thought is it?

that we can agree on but the forum’s default of solving the gear problem is always to nerf it, it was RAMPANT all over the forums asking to nerf gear “because it rained from the sky” which was a load of bs everyone had to work for the same amount of gear as right now the only reason it seemed so easy to gear was because corruption made all content stupid easy

i agree with that but i know as soon as blizz does something like this people will complain again for no reason about how gear falls from the sky again

but i still stand by that M+ is not more harmful to other modes of gearing than PvP is currently.

This is actually the opposite of the truth. If every player in a pvp match is bad, half of them will win anyway, but if everyone in a M+ or raid is bad, they’re all getting nothing.

(Although it also works the other way, if everyone in a pvp match is good, half of them will lose anyway, while if everyone in a M+ or raid is good, they all win, although only a few get gear.)

Maybe raiding is an unusually bad way to gear this tier because CN is an unusually hard raid? People are outgearing it before they clear it because they can’t clear it until they outgear it?

Yep. On this char I’ve done H CN once and otherwise i’ve surpassed it by doing M+. It’s easier and faster to gear in M+ and you can completely bypass H CN.

M+ is much harder so it makes sense and it working as intended.

AoTC is a thing and with how bad gear drops are in general some of us must go to M+ to gear up to ensure we can have enough to get our AoTC. Anyone who does raid or run high keys knows, some people even with a high iLVL are still not that great and it’s up to the rest of us to carry them, if I was forced to raid for raid gear to beat the raid, sad to say I would never beat the raid.

Some nights I pull top DPS and less than half the DPS are within half that range, if they do anything to nerf our current setup, they need to nerf the raids because I can guarantee you right now that if they do nerf M+ there will be 1000’s of posts about how hard raids are.

Fully agree with this.

I started raiding again and when I saw that M+ was STILL dominant postnerf, and that my standing was on the meters would drop if I didn’t compete in keys too, I Noped right back out. There’s nothing wrong with the dungeons this go around (minus some really bad particle effect indicators like red Bad on top of a red floor), just not a fan of the M+ gogogogo playstyle and miss the old CC-pull dungeon crawls.
