I’m holding my judgement until I see it in action but on paper is sounds as if they made one of the annoying weekly affixes into a seasonal one, I would despise a season where explosive or quaking or spiteful. This sounds like that kind of affix, I’m willing to give benefit of the doubt because there might be some side aspect to it like being able to stun enemies as well or some such, but it would be a massive morale loss to go from shadowlands bis seasonal affixes, because honestly they just kept getting better, to having an unpleasant anti melee affix all season in a season that is already a little cursed by the dungeon pool.
yea atm I’m holding my judgment until I see how it plays out. But I think the ilvl change is kinda meh. Gear wise that drops +18 should be higher than 421 but lower than 430. They keep saying they’ll listen to the community and followed up by giving us the middle finger
Should just make m+ gear better in dungeons like they do with pvp
/shrug
If we can upgrade our gear somehow, it might not be all bad. There’s definitely more info coming.
But as of right now, it seems that Blizzard really wants to push people into fixed 20 man mythic raiding. That’s how this is coming off to me atm.
I’m just sick of Ion’s lies. It’s so tiring. I can’t think of any other mainstream live-service game where the game director just continually lies to the player-base in the way that Ion has. I’m just done with it. I’m %%%%ing done.
My sub will run out and when it does I won’t be seen again for a while. Not going to drop some big farewell, I’m just going to stop playing because I shouldn’t have to subjected to psychological warfare and gaslighting when I want to enjoy a video game.
yeah there is still room for hope in the form of valor and the likelihood of tier through m+/pvp. I worry that they aren’t going to learn from s3 at all in that regard since it was apparently quickly that tier acquisition was in issue in a season where things were scaled for it, and the gain was significant.
Thundering definitely sounds like an anti-melee Affix.
yea from what it sounds like. But waiting until I see it before I pass judgment
This made me laugh so hard.
If this doesnt get changed, im honestly just not buying dragonflight. Mythic+ is literally the only content i care about and its getting shafted with a garbage mount and crap gear.
Unsubbed for the time being (sub expires in 6 days) and super glad that i didnt pre purchase dragonflight
Interesting topic.
Because if you have X gear, then X+3 is “high level content.”
If you have X+5, then X+8 is “high level content.”
If you’re following what I’m saying, your argument isn’t that you need to do Mythic Raiding so that you can enjoy M+ at “high level.”
What you’re actually saying, is that if you can’t play at the high-high-high-high-highest Keys that are currently even POSSIBLE … then you’re not having fun.
Which isn’t really a serious argument.
If the highest possible Key is (sic) a +30, then what could you run, simply Raiding Heroic and doing Keys? Shall we say +23s? +25s?
Meanwhile, hitting +15 (18 now in DF?) is all that’s REALLY required of the M+ “game.”
The problem isn’t the system, it’s you. Because if all you ran was LFR, then just getting KSM would be, by comparison, playing at a “higher level” than doing +30s.
IT’S ALL RELATIVE, is the point. Having an issue with that isn’t the fault of the game, but of the player.
some people have fun playing LFR. I’m not 1 of those people
problem w/ the system is needing to do other steps so I can play what I want to play. You logic is flawed and stupid
You didn’t refute a single thing I said.
All you said was “ur dumm.” Which… says more than you think.
learn to read bruh
Right. That’s exactly what I’m telling you.
I guess you can also throw in: learn what facts and evidence are. And then also: get some.
Don’t say things that provoke that response and it won’t be said.
Really required for who? Heroic Andys who want welfare loot? Because that’s certainly not all there is to M+.
You need to do ~21s to get the highest “Not Relative” reward from M+ in DF (Keystone Hero Meta Achievement). And then of course, beyond that there is in fact the relative scaling that yes, players do care about. Just because you say “it is relative” doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter. Top 1% players want to be top 0.1%. Top 5% players want to be top 1%. Top 20% players want to be top 5%. This all trickles down. If you kill M+ for high-end M+ players then that has a trickle-down effect on players below them, and then that impacts players below them, etc.
Thundering is the meta affix, right?
What else do it do? Wowhead has a small note that says it’s some sort of lightning storm, but we get an electric AoE discharge after it’s done?
Some sort of spread mechanic like quaking, but then we can burst for huge damage?
Wowhead says “While in combat, players are periodically caught in Raszageth’s unending storm. As the storm passes, players discharge excess energy that can damage and stun allies.”
So right now it’s a big FU to melee and not much else. If they change “allies” to “nearby targets” it could be interesting - you get a big circle like quaking and everyone overlaps them on the mobs without overlapping each other. That could be interesting and turn melee-heavy groups into a risk/reward kind of thing instead of pure downside.
Yeah, I assume that blurb is just a placeholder for now, and it’ll be more involved mechanic than “don’t hit your teammates.”
…hopefully.
