M+ isn’t competitive it is cooperative. All PvE is cooperative.
People that want to compete in this game do 3v3 arena.
This is one of the major problems for M+ imo. Blizzard needs to find a better solution for the reward structure.

What is mdi?
MDI is a made up E-Sport version of WoW. That’s where most of the “wanna be” sweaty chads get their ideas of run run run as fast as possible and leave when they die. MDI is a plague to the game and always has been. MDI is also where “Stream watchers” think they learn how to play a game. Hell, any streamer is where most people get their idea of how the game is to be played and it’s simply not the way. The game : M+ and Raids can be ran a number of ways and not just what you see some top 1%'er do in stream.
A thing that is as competitive as a 3 point shooting contest. If you are not actively opposing someone else in a way where you impact what they are doing, it isn’t competitive. Think of an offense vs a defense. MDI doesn’t have that.
AWC is competitive, MDI is cooperative.
Can you name a single top 1% player that runs their keys the way MDI is run, outside of when said 1% player is preparing for or actively competing in MDI?
MDI is simply not how live keys are run no matter what level because they are intentionally set at a lower level than the teams are capable of solely for the purpose of encouraging the ridiculous pulls they execute for entertainment value. Nobody who is capable of running keys that way on live servers is wasting their time doing so because they would rather spend their time working on keys at their own level.
If you want to criticize The Great Push in this way, that would be more apt comparison. But there, the pulls we see there are also pulls that groups in keys that align with their skill level are capable of, and so it’s nowhere near as extreme of an example.

You say the pulls we see there that the groups in those keys align with their skill level, you are 100% correct, and yet some tanks and almost all dps that get into PuG keys try to go that fast, and when they die they leave or start talking trash about how a “healer” or “Tank” can’t keep them alive. So yes I am criticizing “The Great Push” as a plague to the WoW environment as a whole.
I have not once had a single tank or DPS attempt to pull anything with even a passing resemblance to MDI across more than 2,000 PUG keys. This just simply does not happen. There are certainly players who will attempt to pull far more than the group is capable of, but outside of very specific instances in certain dungeons, pulling 7 packs onto a boss is something that not even the most overconfident players I have experienced even attempt.
MDI might create unrealistic expectations amongst players who aren’t familiar with M+, and I won’t argue with you if that’s the yarn you want to spin. But in practice the players who are running PUG keys on live server just aren’t attempting that.
So is it MDI or The Great Push (TGP)? Every statement you made before this one was talking MDI.
And if this was just a case where you meant TGP all along, then your description of “run run run as fast as possible” doesn’t actually apply to how it is run. TGP’s fatal flaw is showing key levels that nearly everyone who watches will never reach. But the pulls themselves are more realistic for standard groups to be able to execute. Those teams aren’t pulling at the breakneck speed of MDI or any difficulty lower than M+.
S3 of DF was the most successful m+ season of all time.
All Blizzard need to do is make m+ super casual. Yet they don´t, because Ion only succeeds accidentally.
What’s this supposed to mean? You’re not competing with me to get gear or crests. You may or may not ever group with me so we can help each other earn bis gear, but I’ll never be competing against you for it. Are you really just asking for Blizz to make it easier for you to get bis by separating the challenge from the gear?

Competitors in MDI spend many many hours practicing to get better at the game so they can pull off some amazing performances. Take Mandatory’s recent record clear of Necrotic Wake in 7 minutes 40 seconds! They demonstrated skill, innovation, and brilliance! You don’t have to be a fan of M+ to recognize someone else doing good, and you don’t have to disrespect players who enjoy the game differently than you.

Mythic plus is sadly mostly used to enhance the raider e-peen. I believe that is most of the problem.
While I like the thought of separating raiding and mythic plus via a system like pvp gear. I foresee it destroying mythic plus in the long run.
