M+ bans waves have begun

Is this information you are gathering prior to the run or looking them up after the fact?

I’m curious if you are using an add-on that shows a persons parse on the last run(etc). Thanks.

I think the article said people were trolling and griefing people. But then again I’m familiar with your threads so not understanding what the original post was all about tracks.

Reddit and WoWhead comments are likely the most obvious sources of entertainment. Pretty sure a banned/suspended account ingame also nukes your posting priviledges here (once the forum updates and catches on) but I could be wrong on this since I don’t think I’ve ever been banned/suspended ingame.

Plus most people here are left of bell curves who think there is a pandemic of people looking to brick their +4 key for lawls which is quite likely not true (their own incompetence leading people to quit a “failed” key is another thing…even if some of those keys possibly could be salvaged).

That said, I can absolutely believe there are people on the higher end who DO brick +8 (though probably higher like +12 or so) and beyond to try and eliminate any potential competition for titles. Once upon a time ago, it was a scummy thing to steal raid IDs but there were people/guilds that did that. If you knew when a raid guild on your server raided, you could group up with one of their raiders under the pretense of running a dungeon or trading cheap mats/pots or something, swap the group to a raid, make them lead while you and/or your fellow flunkies camped out at raid instances, and then you all run in and the game would make you take their raid ID which you could then could either steal their progress or blackmail them into paying or you and your crew just show up to the raid before their raid time and be inside preventing their full raid from entering. I was in a guild where that happened twice within a month alone (both times raiders getting scammed into buying cheap pots/flasks thinking they were getting a good deal and not needing to farm for raid).

With brutal dungeon tuning, someone nefarious busting your push key may very well cost you severely and knock out potential contenders for titles.

Reddit.

No that’s my point, Blizzard should add something like this because not everyone logs their keys, I would hazard a guess barely anyone logs keys so having that information is nearly impossible.

And some people purposely don’t log keys or raids because they are bad and don’t want others to look them up and know that, it all comes part and parcel with buying runs, you can buy an M+ rating and an iLVL, you cannot buy a DPS parse, it’s one thing that would 100% oust players who are trying to hide behind purchasing runs with gold.

Well that’s one thing, but from the videos and reports from other players that I am seeing it’s not players joining keys and leaving within 30 seconds, it’s just bad players who are running M12 or so and should not be, players who go into the first pull, completely screw up and that’s it you are done.

Maybe it’s the same people, maybe not, but I do know there are players trying to push M12+ but can’t due to bad players, and I know those keys end quite fast since at that level there is no reason to continue if you can’t time it.

If they are doing suspensions for egregious offenders, they should be able to clearly define what an egregious offender is, or what counts as recklessly leaving a key. And they should be announcing this.

I am personally not affected by this, I rarely do keys anymore and when I do I only leave a key if its a true disaster. But if they are going to enforce some rule with suspensions, people should know exactly what that rule is.

Doubt anybody was banned as this is absurd.
It’s a scare tactic at most.

Being reasonable isn’t a trait we’ll remember of blizz during this dark age.

I wonder how long are the bans for

Honestly, I think you’re right.

And the fact that they are trying to make everyone scared to drop group with vague words makes far more unhappy about it than whatever arbitrary criteria they created would have.

Some of these bad actors intentionally join pretty high keys (12 and up) to try and knock people off from climbing the IO ladder. I’ve seen it personally before and it’s happened to a few of my guild mates.

"Do you want to disband, circle one.

Yes/No"

Blizzard should start auto banning people who enter keys and don’t press their interrupt button or stuns even once. Because that is objectively griefing a key.

Well ive encountered the problem, though its rare, but with a small amount doing it, it still harms the content that a lot of people run.

Ive been kicked just before the last boss in most instances when we were way ahead of the time needed to complete the key. Ive also been kicked when ive done most of the interupts, helpful off healing with the highest damage done, and helping do peels when needed. Ive been kicked also when the group needed dispels and cleanses when the healer couldnt do it all.

There are numerous reason why people get kicked and there are instances when people get kicked for absolutely no reason. I chalk all this up to a toxic playerbase. From the look of it, at least they acknowledged a problem. Now viewpoints will vary but at least they see it now.

what are they basing the suspensions like how do they monitor this…

is it based on the reporting system or is it something they actually track internally. I just find it funny that I ran 1 more m+ monday night on my alt and we wiped on the first pack and a rogue immediately left. I know it has to be a repeat offender but what do they do to actually track this…does something in the system alert them when a person leaves a lot
