I was doing the daily quest on Ardenweald but on the map you can’t see Lunarlight Bud. You can see just the butterfly around of this one, but no the Lunarlight Bud.
Had the same problem. Came here to report it!
Yeah this appears to be an undocumented change. Previously they were visible and targetable even when not activated. Now they are invisible (except for the butterfly) and untargetable until ‘activated’. Makes it significantly more annoying to find them, since you’re looking for blue on top of more blue.
Guessing someone at Blizzard was horrified to find that they’d made something too easy for us. Seeming like this may be a “fix” and not a glitch.
Little easier for someone who’s been doing this one daily for months and knows about where the lunarlight pods spawn, just some eyestrain looking for that tiny sparkly moth. Must be brutal for someone who’s new to it.
It would have been nice to know about this beforehand ION
I came here to see if there was any info and / or report a bug. Thank you for the info on finding the butterflies in order to find the now invisible buds.
This bug is happening on all my characters, too.
While collecting the Large Lunarlight Pod treasure at Glitterfall Basin in Ardenweald, none of the 5 Lunarlight Buds that you stand on are actually visible before standing on them. The butterfly is visible, but not the bud itself. Once I stand on the invisible plant, the glowy activated version becomes visible. However, I have still been able to use my “/tar Lunarlight” macro to see and raid mark the buds. The raid marks appear at ground level, instead of hovering over the plant like they used to.
I began seeing this on 6/30/2021, after the 9.1 patch. I have not done any of the new campaign story yet.
For anyone it may help, here is the macro. It cycles through the raid marks and plays a sound when it finds the target:
/cleartarget
/tar lunarlight
/run local r,T,t,a=SMRI,nil,“target”,{8,7,1,2,3,4} if not r then r=1 end if UnitExists(t)then T=t end if T then if GetRaidTargetIndex(T)==nil then SetRaidTarget(T,a[r]) PlaySound(12867,“master”) r=r%#a+1 end end SMRI=r
Yep I noticed this too. Very annoying and I hope it gets fixed soon.
Came here to report the same! If they wanted to make it “harder” that’s fine but at least make the butterfly a slightly different shade of blue than all the surrounding area please.
Adding my voice to the chorus. Since 9.1 dropped, I can’t see the small bulbs, but can see the blue butterflies. When I get there, step up to the butterflies, then it shifts to the purple one.
These jerkoffs aka devs analyze every single activity to make them as tedious as possible. They actually spend working hours doing this kind of thing. It’s just unreal.
I think it’s clear this is a bug, since the plant model is straight up missing. Likely the art resources got renamed or accidentally deleted.
Having spent a week with this change, you get used to it pretty quickly. Looking for the sparkly moth almost easier than searching for faintly glowing bud.
I realize this is from someone who’s been doing this every day with multiple toons for months so I know about where to look. Does seem like it’d be rough for newcomers.
Curious if this is a bug or some change they spent meetings debating about.
Because if this is intentional, it’s not that bad of a change.
But of all the things to be spending time and resources on, that’s the bug.
After today’s hotfix, this appears to be fixed for me. I can now see the plants before I step on them.
