Lots of small changes, like icons, CDs on action bars, why?

Things I’m used to looking for now look different, why? If you are going to change stuff at least give us the option to use the original, I don’t want to look for my collections icon and now it’s completely different, and that’s just one tiny example. Glows, action bar GCD, all this stuff is changed and I don’t like it, and those are the things I just notice right away.

I really dont know why they are so allergic to making UI changes toggleable. The CD recharge and proc button animations look crappy compared to originals. And I hate the cast bar on the button icon as well.

not a fan of the constant changes to the UI…hopefully they just settle on something soon :face_with_spiral_eyes:

The new system UI buttons were a bit jarring at first but overall I like the changes

I welcome changes to UI. I just want the choice to use the ones I like lol.

The UI changes were never finished from the start of DF, so they’ve been adding the rest of the things they’ve wanted to do since. They’re most definitely still not done making changes and adding new things.

Because it’s better. And no, the whole universe doesn’t have to be backward compatible because you can’t handle small changes.

If it hasn’t been a year, it’s been close enough to it that we got this UI overhaul.

I still have chrs where I change the size of the chat window… and it doesn’t keep the change. Imagine a UI overhaul, and I can’t resize the chat window. Like… 1980s tech here… cmon.

I thought they gave us the ability to remove the rep bar? I still can’t seem to make that go away.

These are such ENTRY LEVEL issues.

I just know about the icons at the corner of the screen- they gave them different colors so you could better tell each button apart.

Also I made my own edited UI using the tools WoW gave me, and I use it on all my characters, thankful for that choice.

It’s a UI, most of it is subjective so you can’t really say “it’s better, end of story”.

Blizzard should do a better job of not annoying players over little stuff. Especially when updated icons is a pretty easy thing to make a toggle for. Set the new one as default and give players a choice to go back. It’s a good way to gather metrics that show how many people use which style.

More customization = good.

Couldn’t care less about the icons. Other than it’s odd they’re spending time on re-re-redesigns.

The size though…

Subjective take. Your opinion on it isn’t the be all end all - that’s the point of an opinion.

The whole universe doesn’t have to refuse basic OPTIONAL toggles for what to use, just because you can’t handle people liking the old stuff better.

Genuinely will never understand this mindset of “I think it’s better, therefore screw you and no one should ever be given options on what to use, because reasons.” You just come off like a pompous s’wit.

Sometimes I think I complain too much, then I see topics like this.

Better for who? You? It’s definitely not better for me.

I think it’s more amazement at the “If it ain’t broke then break it” philosophy they seem to be operating with lately.

I hate the new CD thing lol

Instead of just a thin line showing exact amount, now we get a nice gold smear that starts in a weird spot and is way too thick

Now that I actually got to log in and see all these garbage UI changes no one asked for, I am even more annoyed.

I had to shrink a hotbar just to fit the new micromenu in the same place it’s been in since I started last year. I couldn’t use it vertically, because there’s a hotbar on the right side of my screen and party/chat is on the left. Where it is is where it needed to stay. But because it got its size blown up as well as its new icons, we cannot comfortably fit a hotbar near it without shrinking them or moving them too close to the left and into one of the gryphons on the main hotbar.

The only icon change for the new micromenu I like is the guild icon displaying. The rest just looks way too distracting and overdone. I also don’t like how my only options were get rid of the gryphons to squish the hotbars better (I like the stylized gryphons, it’s why I don’t use a UI replacer addon), or shrink hotbars.

I shouldn’t have to redo the way my setup looks every time Blizz forces these new changes on us with zero ability to go back to how we preferred. It’s small annoyances, sure, but it keeps building up every time they do this, and small annoyances will end up being big annoyances over the long term.

Give us a bloody toggle. We shouldn’t be having to either screw up our UI setup, or resort to a UI addon, just because Blizz keeps making changes no one asked for or wanted. Update the UI all you want, but let me keep it the way I like it, at least.

It’s redundant and pointless. What’s the point of having it when we already have a cast bar? Now it’s just more distraction and flashing lights.

Again, if they want to add this garbage for whatever people might actually like it, fine. But give us toggles to turn this crap off, at least.

Almost no difference between need repairs and don’t need repairs button…

This was my thought too, we have a cast bar already, why mess with the icons and add new animations down there for no reason?

It’s a bigger deal than you’re portraying it. Not to say that some level of customizability isn’t warranted, but likely a “select which version of the UI you want” would be a terrible waste of resources.

Is there something you specific that you want that you can’t do with a combination of macros and the “edit mode” stuff? If so, you might have better luck with something like bartender.
