Reaching out because I’m at my wits end here. I encountered a bug in the alchemy profession that made it to where I couldn’t gain any points no matter the recipe I did. So I tried resetting the profession and it fixed the issue but wiped over a decade of progress and history. I opened a ticket and blizzard said they fixed the bug but won’t roll my character back to fix me missing my progress. I kept asking and they told me to pound sand it wasn’t their problem. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed?
Some expansions, namely Legion, had a book that let you recover alchemy recipes off the vendor I believe. You should also keep some of your unlocks, anything based on profession knowledge specifically. Beyond that, you’ll likely need to relevel alchemy and refarm recipes

You screwed yourself. Why in the world would unlearn your profession, you had to have known you would lose all expansions.

So the DF points I used for the specializations like phials and stuff are gone?
No, knowledge points remain when you relearn Dragon Isles alchemy. You might need to reach 25 skill to benefit from them again though
I tried fixing a game bug because it’s not like we can trust the monkeys in the staff room to code correctly
That’s unlikely to yield much. I don’t believe a GM can restore this, and if they can it has to be through tickets. It is a player help desk, not a way to speed up or work around the queue.
I wish they’d just do a roll back. I haven’t played since I dropped it in case they were going to roll back and I didn’t want to lose any more progress

so are you claiming you didn’t know it would wipe the progress out on all expansions? Pretty sure it tells you it does.
Pretty sure dropping alchemy has always wiped older recipes. Don’t expect a rollback; you’re not the first player who’s lost old recipes when dropping a profession.
Nope I thought it would just reset the current expansion and when you relearned it they would come back and you just had to do the one expansion. I don’t recall the exact message but it was something like “warning unlearning this will make you lose progress” doesn’t say the entire thing…
Unfortunately, Bliz no longer has customer service that will do anything to assist us. 
They say they ‘‘can’t’’. I’ve had old Bliz help with stuff before, but not this new iteration of the company.
So glad we got a $90 mount with spaghetti code. Great old blizz
Blizzard has GMs who assist us. There are constraints as to what they are able to do, however. I don’t believe this is something they can undo.
Do they still have the things at vendors you can buy to re-learn the profession in the expansion? I could swear I’ve seen this before, maybe it was in Legion?
At this point I say it’s a wash I’ll just deal with it I guess
