Lost Character from DDOS

Character was lost March 24th During DDOS issues on server (SkullRock) level 60 Mage, Character name “Mauljin”. Was then transferred to Server (WhiteMane) before I saw the blue post about characters being restored as a result of the third party bad actors ruining game experiences.

Unfortunately as noted in that post, I think it mentions CS can not help with this issue.

Yes, I read that and it means do not contact “Customer Support” aka creating a GM ticket in game, which I also did because I was unable to post on the forums and they responded to that ticket letting me the the “development team” is in charge of the DDOS attack issues and return of characters that were lost due to it. That I would need to post on the forums to reach them as they cannot see the in game tickets. But thank you for the response

But this forum is more of a help desk u want the classsic forums.

The forums isn’t a contact point with the devs, you cane give your feedback, but there isn’t a means to talk to anyone related to that team.

Technically it means both. Customer Support by way of the forums is a branch of the company that doesn’t have any involvement with any aspect of the game itself. In addition to being akin to a visitor’s center or information desk where other players give freely of their time and assistance, in terms of jurisdiction it is largely only responsible for issues related to our Blizzard accounts and digital purchase issues.

Though the SFAs that do linger around this neck of the woods do sometimes have a little more freedom to do things a game master generally cannot (such as providing quest hints), that is entirely of their volition and is not a guarantee. Playing around within the mechanism of our characters strikes somewhere near the top of their “DO NOT GET INVOLVED” list.

For this they would have intended the Classic Hardcore forums.

I’m sure Blizzard is fundamentally OK with this. Certainly, threatening to quit is no leverage at all here. One player of several million simply wouldn’t be missed.

Follow the process as described, limitations and all, or don’t bother.
