How will blizzard react to that?
FYI the game has been out for several years now in different countries. Many customers are asking the developers to slow down on the content because there’s too much.
Imagine that.

Asmongold got me into trying it tbh
I’ve played it before in another region and I’ll play it on launch. It’s a fantastic game with many wonderful graphics, mechanics and gameplay.
I’m not leaving WoW for it, but I won’t mind playing it for a while, and it’s very casual friendly. You can definitely play both and choose which one to give priority to.
It’s a good game, but I don’t see it actually competing with WoW. They’re both MMOs, but very different.
Not really into those types of mmo. Tbh, I’m just not good at those type of combat lol. So just waiting for Elden Ring.
Probably the same way they reacted to New World.
By doing absolutely nothing different.
Zero reaction.
It’s not a WoW killer.
I imagine it’ll be really popular for a few weeks and pull people from ALL MMO’s then the vast majority will trickle back to their respective “main” games while Lost Ark finds it’s niche playerbase.
Like Final Fantasy it’s cool if it’s what you like and want to play, but the aesthetic for it just doesn’t do it for me at all.
Only elves and humans?
F2P?
Not for me, personally.
I think Lost Ark will siphon players away from FFXIV but not meaningfully impact WoW.
Many of the “WoW refugees” who previously left WoW for FFXIV are probably still looking for an MMO other than WoW that has good gameplay, and Lost Ark may offer that. FFXIV is already bleeding subs and will probably lose many to Lost Ark as FFXIV is in a content drought.
Meanwhile, I think the reasons people have stuck to WoW rather than leaving for FFXIV still apply - those who don’t care for the Asian aesthetic, those who prefer 20-man raiding, those who prefer WoW’s style of PvP, those who prefer M+, etc. I’m not super in the know, but from what I understand Lost Ark’s end-game is almost entirely revolving around 8-man raids, and that makes it a competitor to FFXIV, not WoW.
TL;DR: WoW will remain the king at #1, while Lost Ark will steal subs from FFXIV.
Why frame this as if it’s a matter of them quickly pushing out content faster than players can consume it? It’s just a backlog getting dropped all at once because it’s a port.
Game has been out in Korea for 3 years and only has three raid tiers. This means you’re getting a raid tier every year, which is a long time to wait. Folks saying they want to slow down the content simply want a progressive unlock system similar to WoW Classic so they can actually enjoy the first and second raid tiers, otherwise they’ll rush to the third raid tier and then end up waiting for new content when it could have been staggered out and kept fresh longer.
Using OPs logic, World of Warcraft Classic has “too much content” because they don’t release Classic, BCC, or WOTLK Classic all at once.
Sometimes I forget to breathe and remember that Asmongold breathes, so it just clicks, you know? Then I start breathing again.
There’s a timeline where Harrison Ford never got that bout of diarrhea and we got a cliche forgettable action scene instead of a hilarious iconic moment. People say we’re in the worst timeline but I dunno about that.
I tried the beta I didn’t like the ui. It felt awkward clunky to me. Did the improvebit?
Oh yeah I heard about that game. Why did it take so long to come to this side of the world?
It’s going to steal subs from wow’s arena too
Main pvp endgame is 3v3 soloQ, only thing wow has over lost ark is large scale pvp like battlegrounds (and tab targetting ofc). The systems themselves for pvp gear/talents/integrity blow wow out of the water. Lost ark even disables rated queues between like 3am-4am because those are prime times for wintrading
I had to go look up what the game even was. Saw it was F2P and realized that if you want to do half of anything in the game, it’s going to require many microtransactions, and sadly, I’m not about that type of game play.
Oh yeah, like what?
Not sure, haven’t played the game and have no intentions of playing the game. But that’s how Free to Play operates. They get their revenue sources from microtransactions
