It’s not even a Q&A, it’s more of an ad hoc discussion between two dudes who work together lol…

This is exactly how it was advertised. It is not a Q&A. It is a discussion about the Lore and how it is created.

For the record: This stream was NEVER advertised as a Q/A.

They asked for topics and questions but never laid it out like they do with their Q/A Announcement posts. It was very blatantly obvious this wouldn’t be a Lore drop and yet, people see/hear what they want to see/hear.

This is literally the FIRST of the Lore/Story streams and its clearly setting the stage for who these devs are and what they do in their day to day job.

Are they answering questions like a huge Lore dump Q/A? No. Because it never was that so don’t say its trash because something you built up on false expectations never came to happen.

What they are doing is talking and explaining their roles on their teams, how each team/set of developers works with each other and little personal stories with funny jokes, references to past expansions and other things.

So if you want a huge Lore dump in a Q/A form? Lets try not crapping on the FIRST stream that sets the stage.

Okay that’s fair. Totally understandable. Just look at how confused twitch chat is also. It’s a significant amount of people confused on the purpose of this live stream then.

No Lore QA thread? (Jan 10th Lore and Story stream)

We didn’t make a thread here because it’s meant to be more of a discussion on topics and not so much a Q&A. We are trying something different and didn’t want to inflate expectations that a pile of questions would be answered when it’s possible that just a couple topics could lead to back and forth chatting for the whole stream time. If there are areas you are particular curious of then go ahead and post them here or in the blog and we’ll pass them on. Keep in mind certain areas are often diffic…

On one hand, I get the frustration over lack of information that we don’t really know. There wasn’t too much to glean from this, and I don’t think they truly explained “the process” very well.

On the other hand it is super refreshing to see something other than a Q&A. This was their first time in a long time doing something outside of that, so I am still happy that they brought this to the table. I do think they can refine it. I will have more thoughts later probably.

Its a watercooler talk stream, nothing more. I wouldnt even really call it communication with the players. It falls in line more with being flavor.

Perhaps the timing for it is a bit sour with the fanbase as it is but I can at least appreciate the attempt to give flavor.

My only issue is that communication is so sparse and growing all the more sparse that of course any hint of a dev was going to be met with over hype and inflated expectations. They are going to get rebound for this but its a beast of their own creation they chose to ignore.
