Lordaeron “L” symbol

One of my Favorite Logo/Symbols in game, absolutely love it being used by Alliance. Idk if this is head canon or what, but it seems to be a tribute to the Grand Alliance.

Anytime Lordaeron is brought up it seems to get people riled up that that symbol belongs to the forsaken and the alliance has no business using it. Well… yes, I agree the alliance has no claim to Lordaeron. But maybe iam mistaken, but it seems that the Forsaken would rather use their own new symbols than their human past.

I think for story purposes it’s more of a unifying symbol than using the SW lion constantly.

How is it a more unifying symbol? More than half of the current alliance was never in the organization that used that symbol, and nearly half of the nations that were in it are now Horde.

Something about it being a tribute to the original Alliance.

I actually wish they would dump both the “L” and the Stormwind Lion. I get that they are both, in their own way, call backs to the original Alliance from the RTS games, but the Alliance in WoW should be more than humans and friends. An Alliance symbol that was new and not tied so strongly to a specific human kingdom would be nice, imo.

I have found that the lion symbol is annoying, I wonder if non-orc players find the horde logo just as annoying now?

Kinda prefer the lion since it’s that human kingdom and not the one the horde has.

I don’t really care too much for the “original Alliance,” cause hearkening back to it more often than not means that the new Alliance - as in Kaldorei, Draenei, Allied Races, and sometimes Gnomes - gets left in the dust or ignored. Not to mention the copious amount of people wanting to claim Lordaeron from its original inhabitants.

The Lion is better. While it is “original Alliance,” it seems to bare far more neutrality rather than zeroing in on one of the Seven Kingdoms.

Let’s meet half way and agree on a Moon Marsuul-Lion.

Malfurion would be a good symbol, tho he needs some extra stuff but…hes already a nelf with antlers, got bird wings, has lion feet pretty much, ram fur on his lower body, just need a mechanical gadget and a pirple crystal and were good

I like how simple it is to draw compared to a fluffy lion. As far as I’m concerned, the SW logo represents the “NuAlliance.”

They should let you choose your banner. I always wanted Vicious Warsaber mount but I cant stand the Alliance over a Night Elf banner on it.

I need a sentinel or wardens banner.

They’re going to have to come up with a new one soon.

Maybe, maybe not. Could be a situation like the blood elves, they have largely honored Kael’thas before he went nutso.

The L stands for 'Lliance
But we might as well just use Anduin’s face nowadays

Nobody else finds the Alliance big ‘L’ humorous?

Unintended subtext.

I was bout to say… why the hell would you want a giant L as your symbol lmao

The “L” symbol is on the “high warlords shield wall”. It’s a horde symbol now, and alliance never gets it back.

One shield. Wooo

You do realize we have Wrath era shield with that design. More to the point, we have Lordearanian citizens in Stormwind and now no one owns Capital city.

Lastly, I doubt Sylvanas “you should get rid of your former attachments in life” Windrunner encouraged its use.
