I’ve been at this achievement for awhile and it award one of my favorite mounts in the game, but this achievement is just not adding up correctly. I’ve been at 298 for a few days now and after collecting jeweled black panther, an argent tournament mount, AND buying the winged guardian from the shop, NONE of these made my achievement counter go up. I looked up the problem and saw a few more people having the problem and many responses trying to explain this like (oh the achievement only counts useable mounts or, Oh you’re probably looking at the mount counter in the collections menu) no, no im not and i understand how it works. I also understand that there’s a stat that shows useable mounts and that stat currently shows… 301 but my achievement counter is still at 298.
Have you checked all your characters, especially the ones who can use the most mounts? Usually, that would be Warlocks, DKs, or Paladins. Be sure to check both factions, if you play both sides.
Yep, did it on my paladin who has always had the most mounts, I finally got the achievement actually from buying ANOTHER STORE MOUNT. i think the problem is for some dumbass reason it doesn’t count mounts if u got them on another character?? cause my counter went from 298 to 303 from buying 1 store mount
There are two basic issues with these achievements.
The first is often just confusion. The achievement counts the highest number of usable mounts on a character. So if you have gained a new one it is important to log into the character with the most usable mounts so that the achievement can update.
We are seeing a bug where a new mount might not count in the achievement immediately, even if you’ve logged into the character with the most usable mounts. Folks are finding that if they add another one or two mounts that their total will jump the appropriate number.
That is being looked into, but I don’t have any updates on it.
Well this is finally helpful, the last 2 gms that i’ve talked to only gave the first option as a solution when i knew it wasn’t. The bug sounds like what it is but the time frame from when it finally does kick in must be a massive one, considering i was stuck at 298 even with 300 useable for like 4 days. And buying the store mounts i don’t particularly enjoy just to increase it, when it didn’t work was like a punch in the gut just because i didn’t wanna spend hours more grinding for an achievement i should already have. Hopefully this bug gets fixed soon because it is frustrating and just demoralizing
Unfortunately, the confusion about how the achievements work is far more common and this bug is fairly new so while we try to keep Game Masters informed, the more obscure issues can slip through.
The good news is that you don’t lose anything, it just isn’t tabulating in the achievement immediately. It’s likely some wonky database issues on how it pulls the data and hopefully our QA team can figure out what is causing it soon enough.
Hello there. Im hoping this is still active as my situation is strange. When I open up my mount tab in collections, It shows up top that I have 291 mounts. When I open up the achievement, it says I only have 245/250. How am I 40 mounts short on the achievement?? What mounts don’t count towards it?
It’s 4 years old, it’s not active.
It counts as mounts useable on a single character. Faction, race, class, etc specific mounts do not count towards this achievement.
Edit for clarification: those mounts do count, but only on that character. Paladins for example usually are easiest since they have so many class mounts that aren’t useable on other classes.
If that is the case, why is everyone saying to log onto pallys and locks and what not because “they have the most mounts”. If class mounts don’t matter…
Sorry I updated my post. They do but only on that character. An alliance paladin will have a different number than a horde paladin
Okay. Thank you for the help i’m glad I got someone so fast! So, I main a Shaman. I want the title and so on for my shaman. But, If I log onto my pally, I may get a few more mounts added to my progress? But its okay If I still mount farm on other classes as long as ive logged in? And its really just going to add one or two right? Do race mounts not work then? Cause a 40 mount gap is wild…
But even then, I can mount up on all the horde mounts on my shaman… so i dont get how those wouldn’t count.
Once earned, it’s account wide.
Also, those mounts on one faction will not count towards members of the opposite faction, so if you have alliance and horde, that number will vary.
Those mounts with class and profession requirements, will only count towards those characters. All the others with no requirements in faction/class/restriction are counted account wide.
They do count.
It’s tallying up the amount of mounts you can use on a single character.
Your Horde Shaman has a different mount count (most likely) than a Alliance Shaman.
Faction, class, race mounts all only count on that specific character.
For instance let’s say there is 15 Legion Class Hall mounts. That would only equal a +1 to your total, not a +15.
right, because its one per class. That makes sense. I am still stumped at the 40 mount gap. My collections tab on my shaman says 291. Why would my achievement only be 245.
If i log onto my pally, Id maybe get another 2 mounts added to that. And if I had the flying carpet and engineering machine mount, thats only 2 more. So I really dont get it.
My personal suggestion if you know you have the total number of mounts is log into all your characters. It didn’t trigger for my Warlock who’s a tailor or my Pally who’s a blacksmith. It randomly dinged when I logged into a mage who’s herb+mining (no extra class/profession mounts)
Not really, mine is like a 60ish gap.
Thats absurd… makes me really wonder which ones aren’t being counted. Because I’m sure the “291” in my collections tab doesn’t account for alliance mounts. And if it does, then it makes more sense.
Give this a read, it might help you out. It’s a bit outdated as far as specific mounts, but the general info is solid.
