Loot system working as intended... Really frustrated

So I hate to complain, it does little for anyone but yet another week, I am coming here to vent my frustration. Heroic raid cleared again…

… SO…yet another week, no tier for rogues. I set up my own heroic raid, making sure the FOUR classes that share loot don’t overlap in tier. GUESS WHAT!! For the fourth week in a row, no Rogue TIER!!

The problem is, not having four piece is a huge stop gate from completing high mythic plus dungeons. The difference in damage, from what I can tell is pretty significant.

Raid loot needs a major buff.

Gearing via raid is just objectively inferior. Needs to be like doubled, maybe even tripled to match the effort to payoff ratio. Not to mention you have one chance.

Just ran the entirety of mythic Tomb of Sargeras since it’s legacy now and… zero loot my character can use. Hurts even when the content is easy lol

That’s RNG for ya. Crappy RNG.

Blizzard already fixed this problem. They just for some reason didn’t put the fix in the game and purposely are making us deal with this crap for 3 more weeks before they fix it with creation catalyst

the days of gear buffs are long behind us now that people can buy gold for real money.

I didn’t see it until like 2 weeks into this expansion when I was getting no dungeon drops and went to the auction house to fill in the gaps.

at first I thought it was super convenient and then I realized how not good it was as a system.

Loot is broken… Because you didn’t get what you wanted? Entitled much?

Make all the BIS stuff BOE like in Classic. You can grind gold for it if it doesn’t drop. And if it does drop, you can sell it and get your gold back.

That’s a good point. I should choose another word…

The major issue is progression. I am nearly capped as a pug trying to advance much further when a large portion of the player base at high IO has been sporting four piece since week 1 or 2. I have cleared every week on two characters and have rarely seen a drop. Due to my class sharing with four total classes, when one does drop. There are 10+ people rolling on it. So I decided to start my own and nothing for rogues dropped AT ALL. Like nothing, I could roll on.

As i keep saying, need to vary your loot sources if you’re in a rush to gear up. Working out for me anyway cause if i relied on my main activity only (M+) i wouldn’t have jack squat atm.

20% chance kinda blows, especially when you can infinitely spam m+ and get more gear from it with way less people and time commitment

Except the same problem exists in M+; just because its spammable means little. I can’t tell you how many CoS or NO dungeons we’ve done for trinkets and we have yet to see them drop over the course of the expansion thus far.

Too bad people don’t get the fact you can spam things until your eyes bleed, doesn’t mean that what you want to drop actually will drop in the first place.

Right but you objectively have better odds in M+

In raid you have 20% (4 drops for 20 people), in mythic plus you have 40% (2 drops for 5 people).

Raids should AT LEAST be equal to mythic plus (8 drops for 20 people), probably more because it’s considerably harder to find 19 players instead of 4 and takes much longer to do.

Very few BiS items are BOE…

Edgemasters and Lionheart Helm?

Like 5 guilds in the world got 4p week 1 lol.

And only because they have dozens of willing fans to throw away their lockout to funnel gear to them.

Yes, but that’s only for you to be eligible for a drop, not for a drop you can use/need. You then have to apply another equation based on the number of items that can be looted from said boss/instance to factor in the probability of the item dropping you can use/need. In that regard, raid odds are substantially higher because raid boss loot tables are drastically smaller by comparison.

Running the same M+ over and over and having the same item drop for you repeatedly means nothing when it isn’t what you can use or need.

It’s much, much higher than that. I inspected a lot of people going into week two and almost everyone I was playing with had four piece. Check out the top 100 mythic plus players. How many have four piece? Top 1000? Look at the top 100, 1000 raiders? How many of them have four piece already? People don’t understand what a HUGE advantage they have. I keep hearing, start your own raid. Been there, done that. I am not manipulating the system by having people feed me gear. That’s one thing I could do differently.

Yup. Waiting for the catalyst is so fun! So engaging! Top tier gameplay!

Aye, in three weeks we will have tier.

If it makes you feel any better the push weeks/time frame for mythic+ aren’t for another 12-16 weeks (assuming a 5 month raid tier).

I understand the frustration of not having any tier pieces… i have lost every roll that has come up for a piece. Its just part of the game thats been around each time they do tiers. its not new.
