Honestly, no week combination really feels like a push week anymore.
About the only good one is week 10, which is 6 weeks out, not 12-16.

Honestly, tier should just be just like Sparks of Inguinuity, you do a quest and you get a tier slot item. From there, raid boss kills award you an item to upgrade the tier item to a specific ILVL based on the boss’s difficulty, it solves all the problems and prevents the issue where some people get 4pc in 1 week while others have to wait until week 10 to have 4pc via the catalyst because raid leads don’t prioritize fairness over selfishness.
They simply bake too much power into specific class/spec tier sets not to do it fairly since they can’t seem to keep power appropriately capped with tier.
It’s more about pushing doesn’t really happen until late in the season after many weeks of gearing.
That along with favorable affixes.
The highest keys timed for the season aren’t happening in the first 6 weeks that’s for sure.
It’s the same with PvP rankings. The push to the highest ratings is back loaded to the end of the season.
i feel tiers are always unbalanced for what they do… they do also pack to much into them for certain specs.
I do like that idea except it would still make people extremely mad they can’t get their 4 piece sooner than 8 weeks.
Well, that’s also just a product of gear availability, and less so about affix rotation though. There are plenty of people pushing 20+ keys right now, 4 weeks into the season.
Sure hope you don’t want the Horn of Valor or anything else specific from HoV. I think Prot Warrior has like 14 items or something on their loot table as an example.
Do you think people who don’t even have 1pc yet while others have 4pc aren’t mad? At least this makes everyone be equally mad and no one has a tier bonus advantage over the next person in the raid.
Don’t need that, I have it both on my Bear and my Prot Warrior, on their first dungeon clear of HoV.
It was moreso an example of a “worst case scenario”. Comparing literally anything from HoV to say the int trinket from SBG (random example) is anywhere for 1/2 to 1/3 the chance (I believe this shaman has a whopping 4 maybe 5 items on that loot table).
I mean i have zero tier pieces so far (haven’t checked vault yet)… but its part of the game and have been… we actually have more chances with vault (15%(5% per slot) from mythics 3 and raids 3 slots) to get them than before. This isn’t new to the game… complaining about every single time tier comes out won’t fix anything if you don’t get it… its like my friend NEVER got raid tiered weapons until the last 2 weeks… its just happens… its apart of the game.
Oh I absolutely agree.
I think part of the issue, particularly with things like the Scale trinket from Nokhud, is that it only drops for tank specializations and so you have to be lucky to be the one eligible for loot and then lucky for the item to be picked from the loot pool.
If you take Horn of Valor, for example, it’s literally on most if not all, loot tables. This means it will have a much higher probability to drop because any of the 5 players can get it on their loot table.
Any item that is coded specifically for tank or healer specs is always so hard to obtain compared to an item that is available universally to all roles or a dps role just due to the fact you can only have 1 tank or 1 healer per 5-man.
Yes I know, but this thread is also about gear (tier).
Players will likely be pushing +30 by the end of the season since they’ve already hit +24.
complaining about every single time tier comes out won’t fix anything if you don’t get it
But saying nothing and being silent also doesn’t change anything either, right?
Look I get people who are upset by tier acquisition. If I recall in S3 of SL, I got 1 piece of tier from the vault and the rest of my tier was obtained from the catalyst. We had the same tier token drop repeatedly in raid week after week, and we had some raiders who literally got their tier completely from the catalyst.
its like my friend NEVER got raid tiered weapons until the last 2 weeks… its just happens… its apart of the game.
It is, but gear progression is subjective and to some people, it’s a critical element to their enjoyment of the game. It’s no different than a friend of mine who believes they need to gain IO every single week regardless of the affixes.
There are people who don’t give two 2 copper about it and are perfectly fine with the game rewarding them with tier or weapons when the stars align, but its disingenuous to expect that everyone has the same perspective on the game and that their frustration or anger toward how loot happens is misplaced or unimportant too.
complaining the forums won’t solve anything. not something thats part of the core gameplay. getting the upgrades is the fun. crying and getting them left right and center without effort is boring.
some times you get a ton of upgrades… some times you get none… its part of the game…

There are for sure. I got AV 20 three times out of five keys last week. I was pushing 75-78k overall and wasn’t close to what we needed. I was the only one without tier in two of my three groups. In one of my groups the hunter was pumping 130k overall, and the lock, not having tier either wasn’t doing very good. In another group, hunter pumping 100k+, Shadow priest 90k+, my 72k… Didn’t time.
I have a lot of work to do for sure. There are rogues timing 20s no problem without 4 piece. Just so we’re clear, I am not at that level. Four piece would sure help though…
crying and getting them left right and center without effort is boring
I don’t think this is the case. Those pushing for high IO or mythic raiders trying to clear bosses rely on this gear to be competitive. Nobody wants anything for free or handed to them. This is about being competitive in a competitive atmosphere. When there are IO scores, AOTC achievements, and damage meters, gear matters. For those of us doing the work, i.e. clearing every boss every week and running hundreds of mythic plus dungeons to be beat out by someone that is already fully geared is frustrating. RNG is pretty cool, but it can be worked in differently.
There are solutions that don’t involve getting anything for free or without working IMO. Earn tokens for number of bosses cleared. We can earn valor and buy pieces. Maybe it takes just as long as waiting for a catalyst but at least no one is fully geared week 1. I.e. JPC 411 item level the first few days. I am still not there, playing almost full time.

No one is asking for getting tier without effort. If I clear a raid with you and you get 4pc, I put in the same amount of effort as you, but the difference is I got nothing to show for it while you walk away in your new shiny 4pc.
And as we often find, you with your new 4pc no longer show up to raid because you have all you want and we have to sub someone new in, and the cycle continues. But somehow the person who gets shafted lockout after lockout is asking for gear to be handed to them?

This person gets it.
Look mate. i haven’t gotten 1 tier piece yet and it does suck but its literally part of the game. I have geared people and watched them run off as well… it sucks but crying or complaining doesn’t make you get the next piece of gear. its been BARELY 4 weeks since raid launch… now if your not 4pc by the next raid release then yes i might say something is wrong but i won’t be crying about it becuase it could just be my luck like normal.

No it doesn’t, but sometimes having a place to vocalize your frustration is therapeutic. And additionally, if the sentiment isn’t just a localized problem and its a more common theme, having a place where that’s visible to CMs and DEVs isn’t bad either, it gives them a data point to ask “What can we do better to avoid this?”.
You seem to come from the perspective, it’s always been this way, suck it up and deal with it. If that’s how you want to view the game, that’s your prerogative, and more power to you, but that’s just your subjective opinion on the matter, and others like myself have a different more modern take on how loot should be handled so that you feel rewarded for your time in the game, rather than feeling as though its time wasted.

But that’s because you’re just complacent with a bad system. You’re not doing any type of content where having 4pc is the very definition of whether you’re invited or declined, or you have a spot on the progression roster or you’re benched.
Blizzard can say they added the catalyst as an “alt-catchup” but that’s just a PR stunt to hide the fact that the loot drop system used in raid is bad when in the wrong hands and it’s their way to cover it up while trying to keep as many people happy as they can.
