No where in the terms and conditions does it say I am obligated to read your mind in game, determine your version of morals, and abide by it. Way too controlling for me.
How is it not distributing loot properly?
See, here’s the issue. Cut and dry. Folks see “player power” as a total sum game of item level. But that’s not accurate. If one of my characters has an item level of say, 455, and yours has an item level of 435, then I should let you have ALL of the drops? What if I still am stuck with an Adventurer level trinket, that I’ve done my dilligence and maxed out at 450, but it still sucks compared to even LFR loot, and then a trinket drops for me. Should you automatically get it? It’s a legit upgrade for me. But I’m ‘stronger’ than you in terms of player power.
Or perhaps I have a veteran level item, yet that LFR drop in the same slot (which I don’t have) increases my item level. Should I not get it because I already have a piece of similar (yet inferior) gear?
And I’ll even go as far as transmogs go. Maybe I absolutely love the look of that two handed sword that drops from Smolderon, and have never gotten it. First time I see it is on LFR, even though I have the Bonecrusher from Gnarlroot on say Normal mode, which is technically a superior weapon. The random luck on all of my normal raid runs, of which by now I could have had a dozen, kept me from ever winning the Soulcleaver, and so now when it drops, I still can’t have the “look” of it because someone ELSE wants to use it? Just because I have a technically better weapon?
I’m sorry, but the transmog argument holds power too. People want to look the way they want to look. They pay their $15 (or whatever) just like everyone else does. And Blizz clearly is okay with this, as per their loot roll system working.
Argue all you want about morals, or fairness, but at the end of the day, you don’t get to cut in line at the local deli because you look hungrier than I do. Same thing here.
Dang, it’s IMMORAL?? That’s a new one. I swear General Discussion would run the most tyrannical Master Loot councils ever conceived if they had their way.
What loot council is giving you raid gear for mog/gold over someone who needs it for power
Like i said they literally designed this system that way yes. Imo if u are more powerful than someone in lfr they should get prio on loot. Otherwise remove the system and make it p loot.
Who’s using loot council in a pug?
No one thats why this system exists.
Only if you currently have equipped or in your bags the identical piece of gear at a higher iL and the gear dropped doesn’t have any bonuses (socket, tertiary stat). e.g., If my pally has an Aspect level crafted shield, I can roll need on any shield in LFR. Because I don’t have “that” shield.
I’ve seen this first hand as well in LFR. I don’t have a raiding guild for any of my toons, so LFR is the only way I can see the raids. But I’ve had plenty of toons lose out on gear that would be a great upgrade to someone rocking 490s.
On the other hand, I also look at the gear of the person who’s winning the roll for a piece of gear I’m eligible for, and if they have a piece that’s better quality, I’ll roll need and give it to the next person that it’s an upgrade for.
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve done that, I’d have two nickels, which is weird, because it’s a lot more than you think it should be.
Sure people greed b/c they have a similar ilevel or higher BUT it is maxed out, no upgrades possible and they roll on the future “upgrades” totally fine - any whining is your own…
Make the gear you win bound and untradeable.
Oh, and ilvl is temporary, mog is forever.
I need that mog I also need those enchanting mats and I also need vendor gold. I killed these bosses just like you but my needs are different than yours. You don’t like how I play then find some friends with similar goals than yours.
lol…youre gonna hate me because if I spent my time doing the work I AM trying to win whatever I can…for mogs, gold, whatever.
Agreeing with what others have said: if a person helps contribute to a boss kill and they roll need on a piece of gear that they are eligible to roll need on, then it doesn’t really matter why they rolled on it and quite frankly it isn’t any of your business. They helped kill the boss and they won the roll on a piece of gear they were eligible to roll for. Sounds harsh, but it’s the way it is. Accept it and move forward.
You can certainly always reach out and ask politely if they don’t need whatever it is they’ve won and are willing to give it away. But calling it abuse when people roll need on gear just because YOU don’t agree with it is false.
There is no issue here. Just yesterday someone made 750K gold selling 2 LFR items on need to other players. Great for the economy great for the game!
No one rolls on Vendor Trash and a sword with AGI is just that and no more
personal loot is no different than what we have now
Funny how everyone with ZERO morals respond to a reason based post about limiting NEED loot rolls for them.
If you don’t see a problem with people with great gear taking loot from people trying to gear up for the roll they are currently in for the raid then you are the problem.
nuff said enjoy because I know it will never change.
Wow, that is really low.
If they are willing to behave like that in such a low stakes scenario as a game, makes you wonder how much lower they go in real life.
You can’t abuse something when you’re winning a loot roll.
Gear and transmogs are both valid reasons for someone to roll. You are entitled to a piece of gear just because it’s a stat upgrade.
They were just a apart of the kill as you are.
