Your rank 10,000 guild doesn’t need loot council. You aren’t getting world’s first in anything.
Show up to raids and perform, get gear.
Don’t show up, or come without enchants/consumes, or don’t know how to play your class, no gear. Its pretty simple. Work hard and get rewarded. Hindering the progress of the guild because you either don’t care or aren’t good shouldn’t be something that gets rewarded.
Yep EPGP promotes attendance and is fair.
You can also have a SR system or EPGP system that promotes attendance and performance. You just withhold points from people who don’t meet the minimum requirements for raid.
So they don’t earn points to spend.
It isn’t hard. You are trying to make it hard because you are invested in LC because you probably benefit from it.

So a boss dies and then it drops exactly what you want because you have enough points? I guess that is a good system.
Yeah if a boss dies and drops gear you want and you have the most points to spend from attendance then you will win the gear. No rolls involved.
If the boss doesn’t drop the gear you wait for next raid and don’t spend your points, and then the gear drops, you get it then.
There you go. RNG. 
I’ve done raids with DKP guilds before. Complete dumpster players will save up points for really big BiS items, and they aren’t skilled enough to use it effectively. It’d be better off in the hands of someone who knows how to play their class. Its a really feels bad system.
I’m an officer and on LC, and we have voiced to our guild that tanks and healers get prio’d gear first, then DPS. Everyone understands this. It isn’t uncommon for MT to get 5 peices of gear in one raid for the first week or two, then things will go to DPS. As a DPS, i usually don’t ever get gear til the end of the phase because we make sure gear goes to the people that will benefit most from it.
It sounds like you either had a bad experience, or maybe one of those players that just don’t perform and never got gear.

You are right in that being server first isn’t relevant for most, because only a few can get it. But one thing is very clear, the best guilds use it because it is effective in gearing the raid in an optimal way.
We are discussing loot system based on how the game currently works. Of course a badge type system would be better.
Guess what…there is a badge type system in the game right now!!! Amazing… You can buy gear with valor emblems right now by doing PVE.

sounds like you’re sour because you didn’t get the loot you wanted or none at all. loot council is the best way to distribute the loot out to the people who should get it first.
Not at all. I just detest loot councils because they are all inherently biased because of their design.
Loot Council relies upon fair leadership, with integrity 24/7. Good luck with that, considering all of recorded human history with regards to those qualities. Authoritarianism never ends well, given the nature of most humans (most especially those who actually desire & covet leadership/power positions over others).
Its not an opinion. When a BiS hunter bow drops and the trash rogue has more points, he gets the bow, when it should have 100% went to a hunter as they benefit more from it.
Sorry you don’t understand how LC works. Maybe you’re just bad. In all honestly, GDKP is probably the most fair loot system in the game. Literally everyone benefits from it.

Yeah imagine thinking people can be fair and unbiased when history shows that actually never happens.
If they wanted the bow they should have had better attendance or saved their points more wisely.
If the rogue had better attendance or simply was in the guild longer and had more points then they deserve the item.

biased on who should receive the loot based on the specs you play? you’re damned right. there is no reason for certain players to stock dkp or EGPG up to snipe a piece that isn’t great for them. they’re negatively harming the the raid. you can detest it all you want. but it is by far the best system.
