Hahahahaha. Pesky indeed
Nope, not shabby at all for some. $500 for some completionists is like a penny or even less for others among us.
I watched a video the other day about some coin collection selling through Christie’s or one of these auction houses. There were individual coins worth many millions of dollars. The whole collection was worth some $200 million. That collection sold almost instantly upon the bidding being opened.
All the things are done by humans, folks.
Dumping $500 into a virtual collection.
Dumping $200 million into a coin collection.
Two hundred million dollars. For coins.
even worse I think people have already dropped off in patch 8.3 from burn out because the ah is moving so slow.
Something not buried in a post about an achievement would be nice. Maybe a pinned post, maybe something on the launcher, maybe anything more viewed than this.
Lol, well even if I had a trillion dollars I wouldn’t waste $500 on a virtual item. Heck, I doubt i’d even play video games.
Would you pay $500 to go to a concert from a band you love?
That’s not a tangible experience either. I mean, yeah, you can see it and hear it, but it’s not something permanent that you will “have” when it’s done.
Maybe the t-shirt and the program, but that’s about it. I’m talking more about the experience itself. When it’s done, you have the memories, and that’s all. That’s enough for some people.
A “video game item” is, for some, the same thing.
U have the same logic as me dude. Like if u enjoy something and u have the funds to spend on the thing u enjoy do it. Who really cares what others want to make u feel about how u spend your money. Like we all obviously play this game and if u equate that to time we could be making money doing something else we are losing anyways lol
The crazy thing is it would take roughly 33 months of subscription time to equal that $500. Meaning that, if you quit now because you don’t agree with decisions like these, but someone else dropped the $500, it would take almost three years of you not playing for that to turn into a net loss for Blizzard.
They could have at least mentioned the BMAH deal in the patch notes where they announced the FoS being added.
But on the other hand, they just had to remind people that the legendary cloak exists and that’s far more “in your face” than some post in a thread they didn’t make.
I’m rooting for you, Breakbeat!
I’m still upset I buy a wow token to make a purchase for a digital pixel battle pet or mount, not only do they take a cut of the gold in the ah they charge me tax on it.
U guys realize when this game came out u bought the game and had to pay for a sub right? No other option. No paying in gold or bnet balance. It’s part of their company to make money off us nothing else. The creators are pretty much gone as far as I know? And even if they are still part of it in some way they are still a business to make money. I don’t agree with them taking this mount out like this because it’s never been a thing before like that. But most games have stuff to buy and keep people addicted. It’s smart. People like to collect stuff. My problem like most is they didn’t make an announcement in a timely fashion to give a heads up to the community to prep for it. It’s not like a raid mount where everyone knows it will be an aotc and eventually be unobtainable or a % drop. It’s a vendor mount. When have they ever done this? And the people saying earning gold in this game is some feat? Please the day they put tokens in there is no challenge to that. Lol
Hello Blizzard,
I just wanted to reach out to you again to say that I do not agree or support your decision to move the brutosaur mount to the BMAH.
Thank you,
Fezzy
Yeah, I’ve already admitted I added a zero here by mistake…
Thanks for playing, though.
The CMs are hardly “random yahoo’s”. They are fairly well known, especially the one who happened to respond in this thread. Kaivax and Nethera are the two that have been around the longest and who generally don’t just randomly respond to threads just for kicks and giggles.
I would hardly compare then to the bag boy at the grocery.
Agreed, which I already said…
I’m really not sure your point or argument in this? Even if they are well known blues or even in game gm’s they are still random blizz employees. They are not the higher ups of the company. They make no decisions on what would or could affect the company financially. And as that their word pretty much doesn’t mean a lot on a grand scale. So yes an official statement by the company on some sort of front page part of this game should be done in a timely fashion for the player base to act on how they want to get this mount.
No they don’t. But they tell the players via the forums what the “higher ups” tell them they can because that is what they were hired to do regardless of how much of “no bodies” you seem to think they are. I’m quite certain Kaivax didn’t come into this thread and say what he said without someone who does make decisions telling him (probably all of them) that they could clarify the question presented.
This is only normal. None of the Blues would make statements about what’s going on without an okay from above. Often they reach out for a clarification that they can pass on through the forums.
But it still doesn’t count as an official announcement–and you said so yourself:
The truly egregious lapse was not announcing the removal when they announced the FoS. There was no excuse to not mention it then.
I don’t have any hopes of “improved communication.” I don’t have any hopes that they’ll reverse this decision.
I do (still) have hope they might compromise with a non-AH replacement version on the vendors when they remove the MCB. But I’m not holding my breath.
Meh, I am just hoping on blizzard adding other giant brutosaur recolors, just lacking the vendors like how you have a few different colors of the traveler mammoth mounts in wrath. I would be satisfied, and so would many others, but im not holding my breath blizzard will do this.
