Finally hit the halfway mark. Not having fun, but I guess whatever lets them sleep at night, amirite? >.<

Oh, ya girl’s got this.
Here comes the doom and gloom.
If the game is on the way out then why do we waste our time here on this game anymore, shouldn’t we find something that we know will be around for a while?
They laid off around 800 employees, that’s much different than firing 800 people. In the business world layoffs happen on a constant basis, this is something adult professionals must learn to deal with and accept.
Unsurprisingly enough, it hasn’t boosted the number of accounts owning this mount. So this idea was borked from the start. lol
Finally got mine. Although I feel I learned a new endgame. It has come at the price of feeling burned out. To rush to get this item. I am happy to get the brutosaur. I am utterly dissapointed in the lack of communication with removing stuff like this from the game with enough time to properly plan from the start of the expansion. We never know what can happen down the line planning wise so to do it all in a patch can be bad. I had planned to take my time over a few years. That was all rushed and done in a few months. I really dont see the brutosaur auction house being that different from a bank and posting alt for auctions. You are much better to post auctions on just one toon else you always undercut your other characters. And the mailboxes arent synced. I do love checking on stuff to buy while waiting in ques and some dungeons though.
You’re right, they weren’t fired. Being laid off is worse. It means Blizzard considers those positions closed rather than the employee underperforming. It’s a statement that the level of community engagement, QA, graphic design etc was above the required level and could be reduced to save money.
You are claiming that no one has bought the brutosaur since the announcement. That is a pretty extraordinary claim, perhaps you could share a link with the evidence backing that up.
Alright, we’ll leave it at that since you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. gg
You still haven’t provided evidence that no one has bought the brutosaur since they announced it was being removed.
I’ll quote you exactly so you don’t forget: “Unsurprisingly enough, it hasn’t boosted the number of accounts owning this mount.”
People care about mounts?
You’re still relying on Wowhead, which requires people to be using the Wowhead client. But your argument that it’s still rare is still counter to Blizzard’s concern that it would become too common. So thank you for your continued support in keeping the Brutosaur mount right where it’s at.
It is rare now, removing it from the vendor will make sure it stays that way. Given the wild gold inflation in the game this mount would be all too common in a short amount of time. My argument isn’t counterproductive at all. Sometimes one has to think two steps ahead instead of one step behind the curve.
its just pure greed
Really? You have the exact number of accounts that own this mount, and know when it increases? If you mean the percentage, do you realize how many accounts would have to get it to push it even 1%?
What wild gold inflation? If anything we’re still deflated from where we were in WoD and Legion. And it’s unlikely that even if they did go back to WoD/Legion levels of gold faucets, this mount would still be fairly rare. It’s 50% of the gold cap, it would still require a massive amount of work to be able to get it, even several expansions down the road. They’d have to get to the point where quests hand out tens of thousands of gold for this mount to become as common as you fear it would be.
Cool. And that’s the whole idea. Im glad we’re on the same page, finally.
Except we’re not. You completely missed the point of my post in your haste to come up with a snarky response. Try again while quoting the whole sentence, like the part where I said it would still be difficult to get.
Grats!
Keep it up!
I have been asking myself this, which is a little worrisome.
I used to just log in and have fun. I never cared about other folks being there or not (still don’t, really). I just did my thing, worked toward my goals, and enjoyed myself. But now, having one of my goals that I’d been diligently working toward snatched away for no good reason has really made me question my entertainment choices.
I’ve got tons of other things that take up a lot of time. I’m an artist, writer, musician, and equestrian. Each one of those occupations could fill my days by themselves. The art and writing are my vocations. The music and horse just take a lot of time (and keep me sane).
WoW was fun for me because I could set obtainable goals and see results. I absolutely love the game achieves for just this reason. I really liked long-range goals that took time but were still guaranteed. Pathfinder was an excellent fit for me. The Mighty Caravan Brutosaur was the biggest one yet. I figured it would take me about four years, but I could get that sucker in the end.
And now I can’t.
Imma gonna go practice. Because being able to play music well is a way better achievement than anything in a video game.
Within a few expansions it would, in fact, be easily obtainable, just as the mammoth or yak are today. Most of us wouldn’t make the claim that those mounts are very prestigious anymore, not like they once were. This shouldn’t even be a discussion.
The mammoth and yak are easily obtainable? How do I get one then?
You can get the mammoth by just running a bunch of WoD raids in a few hours tops.
Yak the same, but if you want it in a week, on a couple alts.
This.
If they’re so concerned about the auction house being everywhere, then they should be replacing the function with something else.
