They might introduce another 5mil mount. They aren’t ever going to make another AH mount. (The AH is their stated reason for removing the mount from the vendors. They don’t want it to be as common as repair mounts.)
The Mighty Caravan Brutosaur is going on the Black Market AH where it will likely sell for gold cap. It’s not going away, it’s just being removed from the vendors and going up in price.
I appreciate your vote of confidence. I’ve not really played the BMAH. Every time I’ve tried, the things I wanted went for gold cap. But I’m going to continue saving up anyway.
Aww, surely you wouldn’t be skeptical of unsupported claims people make on forums to support their pet point of view they’re currently pushing so assiduously?
I expect the mouthy fellow is a doctor, a programmer, a genius, owner of a dozen thriving businesses and happily married with a gorgeous obedient wife and half a dozen successful children - in any thread where such attributes will support his argument.
I can say with utter honesty that every single person I’ve spoken to about this change has been completely against it.
By “spoken to”, I mean actual face-to-face speech without any technological assistance. I’ll leave it to you to assume how many persons this was. (I do have some real-life friends I play with, so the number wasn’t zero.)
In all truthfulness, the only people I’ve run across who were in favor of this change have been here on this forum. But even though WoW’s player numbers have dropped, I’m not going to pretend I’ve discussed this with more than the tiniest fraction of a percent of players.
Brahmina, I hope you don’t think I was addressing you. I believe you to be totally honest and straightforward - and I really hope you somehow get the Brutosaur.
I’m not around the forums much these days but i’m around enough to remember seeing that guy being a staunch defender of Blizzard in just about every topic where they were copping flak. Absolutely nobody should be defending this kind of crap move, even the white knights need to leave this one alone.
But what’s a guy to do if he really really wants his posts to be green, and wants invites to beta tests?
Surely one day Big Daddy Blizzard will count up all the white-knight posts made, appreciatively pat him on the back and reward him in the way he wishes?
Prepatch is going to be a while but I understand the frustration. Should have never happened to longboi.
Blizz should have left it alone because sometimes doing less is more. Blizz has a habit believing that they have to be custodians of every single tiny intricacy of the game which leads to much of the game being stripped down of any interesting nuances.
The later the better as far as I’m concerned.
I like to keep up with current casual content on (currently) 42 leveled toons, while leveling a few dozen others and collecting pets, mogs and mounts, so there is always too much to do.
And I want Brahmina and others in her position to have time to accumulate 5 million gold before prepatch.
Sadly, unless prepatch is sometime in 2022, I’m not going to have the 5 mil. But I’m pulling for the other folks who are working on it.
I really wish I had the time to devote to this just because I’m annoyed that Blizz is taking the MCB off the vendors. I’ll console myself by practicing instead (piano and sax right now). I’ll bet not so many of the devs play piano and saxophone.
It’s very discouraging that there’s been no further response to this issue beyond the couple of blue posts here. This entire thing has really sucked all the fun out of playing for me. I’m still doing what I can to earn some gold, but it’s so hopeless now that I don’t even feel like logging in anymore. I’d rather watch TwoSet videos and draw. (Both fun things for me, but one actually earns me money.)
WoW already is on life support. We are in the cash cow/vicious cycle phase of the product.
They cut content, do the bare minimum and milk as much money as possible from the whales until it’s no longer profitable to keep the game running at all.
There’s a reason they fired 800 staff, cancelled 8.3.5 and announced the most content bare expansion in the games history. There’s a very clear downward trend.
That’s why they’re resorting to such dirty tactics as 5m gold token bait mounts that they then use FOMO on to increase sales.
