Looks Like the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur might Be Unobtainable In 9.0.1 (Part 1)

There is still plenty of time for players to make enough gold before the expansion is up. If by chance players are not able to make the gold this expansion then they’ll have one of two choices to make, purchase the mount on the BMAH or use the gold for other things like game time or the next gold-sink mount next expansion.

You forgot option 3. Wait to see what other vendor mounts blizzard will remove with little to no warning, and no official announcement.

Do tell. Estimates from many gaming sites now have the expansion dropping in August. That’s a little over 200 days from now. Let’s push the date back though, and make it a whole 300 days (to November). That would require making nearly 17,000 gold each and every day. The players who are able to do that already have the gold and the brutosaur if they wanted it.

The problem here is there are a significant number of players like myself who don’t make gold fast, but who are disciplined enough to save it up over time for the expensive items in game. In the past we’ve been able to do this with no problem. Now, suddenly, Blizzard decided to change things on us without warning.

If the mount had been labeled as limited time to begin with, some of us would have been able to adjust our gold making to meet the deadline, while the rest would have not bothered even imagining we could get it. But it wasn’t.

Even now, Blizzard has made no official announcement about this change. As most players never look at the forums, there are surely a good number who have no idea that they should be either ramping up their efforts or planning on doing something else with their gold. They will be caught unaware when the mount suddenly vanishes from the vendor (or Blizzard finally makes an official announcement).

The lack of forewarning is what a large number of us complaining here are most upset about. We want Blizzard to not continue making mistakes like this, and so we point out when they drop the ball.

I still feel the best way for Blizzard to lessen the impact of this decision would be for them to put at least one other of the many brutosaur models they’ve developed onto the vendors. That way they can make the AH mount more rare (their stated reason for this change) while still allowing players who just want the model to purchase one for a set amount from the vendors.

Its still BS in my book they are doing this to a major part of player base…its wrong on all levels now.

You’re wrong about them doing anything to a major part of the player base. It was never intended for the majority of the players. The mount is a luxury mount intended for the rich players, just like a Lamborghini isn’t mean for the majority of the population.

Limited luxury items are great for the game, they give us something to strive for instead of waiting a few years when gold inflation makes those items common for even the most casual of players to obtain.

Yes it can be consider for majority of player base if they left it alone and kept it in the game and not throw it too the BMAH…that way majority of player base could work to get it …like many whom have commented here were trying to but now getting rug pulled out from under them.

Look how many of player base have the high Gold Mammoth and or Yak now …most couldn’t afford those mounts when they first came out but can now after so many years of saving up the gold.

When patch 9.0.1 drops make it so that all Brutosaurs purchased after the fact have the AH vendor stripped. I can’t imagine re-releasing a Brutosaur under a separate I.D. would be as hard as needing to come up with half of the gold cap in time for 9.0.1

Also inherently dishonest.

Artificial scarcity for bringing in RL$ is the sort of thing you’d expect from a FTP game that sells gems or crowns or similar for cosmetic items, mounts, etc. It is not the sort of behaviour a game that relies on a sub model should be indulging in.

That’s the part that I fully agree with and am thrilled as to why they are removing it from a vendor, everyone shouldn’t have prestigious and luxury items. If everyone has a prestigious item then it isn’t prestigious anymore. This is the same reason I disagree with participation trophies. I won’t even allow my children to accept participation trophies in sports. Everyone doesn’t deserve everything everyone else has. I believe in earning it.

Gold sinks aren’t prestigious. You can pay blizzard to obtain them. Removing them from the vendor (something never done before) encourages that even more, instead of giving players something to work for over time if they want to.

If the first thing you think of when it comes to gold is buying gold then you probably wouldn’t understand the time investment and and knowledge of items and workarounds it takes to earn gold and play the AH in the game. I don’t say that in a negative light, most people don’t fool with making gold.

Today you can use near-automated addons that do everything for you, so you don’t even have to keep up with this stuff on your own. There is no reason to buy gold unless you simply don’t devote barely any time to this game, and if you don’t devote much time to the game then you surely don’t deserve things like some of the most expensive mounts in the game.

We’re not talking about just any gold, we’re talking about a large sum of gold in a limited time.

I understand that just fine. The fact remains, it is easier to get gold in a limited time by buying it. If there was no limited time (no other gold sink has been), than yes, people could work toward…what was the word you used? Oh right…earning it.

A Lamborghini is a physical item, we’re talking about a virtual construct, somethign that has been explained to you many times over now.

Removing goals gives people less to strive for.

No matter how you look at it, both are prestigious items and both are not meant for the general populace of either “world”.

This mount being removed from a vendor will, hopefully, set a new trend of things to come. This gives a reason for players to work harder on their gold earning capabilities for the next prestigious mount. If a player simply gives up that easy and has little to no perseverance then they don’t deserve the best of the best anyway.

If they aren’t able to buy this mount then it gives them a reason to step their game up and start working towards the next prestigious mount. Not everyone deserves everything that everyone else has.

No matter how you look at it, one is a physical item and one is virtual. They are not comparable.

Fewer things to buy = fewer goals for people to strive for.

Also? Get off your high horse with this “don’t deserve” nonsense. This is a mount in a video game and you’re acting like it’s the most important thing ever.

Than they better do something about farm bots because real people cant compete with those.

Make sure you’re doing your part by reporting them.

Or buy tokens to get it: more likely.

I’d venture to say that most players don’t buy tokens. That seems to be the first thing you think of when someone talks about gold.

:woman_shrugging:

Ideally it shouldn’t be removed at all, but if they plan on sticking to their guns (of course they will, it’s Blizzard. FULL SPEED AHEAD INTO THAT ICEBERG, CAPTAIN!) I think there needs to be a replacement. Another brutosaur, maybe a different color, but without all the bells and whistles of an AH mount. THAT would be okay with me. As long as it isn’t locked behind something ridiculous (but of course it will be, it’s Blizzard). I would be fine if it was just another gold sink. Make it 5 million too, I don’t care. But at least it would be there for those daring enough to try.
