That was well put. I hope that someday people who care about the enjoyment factor of the game and not just the cash metrics are running this one again.
At the end of the day we’ll just have to see if the ownership percentage rises well above 3% when it’s finally removed from the vendor. If we hit 7-9% then I’ll admit that you were right about this being about token sales.
What pattern?
This has been said about almost everything that players have been mad about since day 1.
The forum is a horrible way to judge the overall feeling of the whole player-base. There are very few people even post here, or any WoW forum, when we’re talking about the whole player-base. You can’t judge something based on a handful of players who’re outraged on the forum, nor can you judge it because two youtubers say it’s a bad move.
If Blizzard were to design this game around what the forum wanted we wouldn’t be here now. They got to where they are because they are a business that knows what they’re doing.
Are you saying the majority of the player base is happy they are removing a vendor mount? Something they have never done before.
I’d venture to say there are plenty of people who are happy, I might go as far as saying I’d bet that more people are happy or not care about the decision versus the small number that are outraged about the decision.
How do you know it is a small number? Also, this extends farther than just this mount. This sets a very bad precedent.
It just occurred to me, the wording in the blue post is slightly vague:
(Emphasis mine.)
Does that mean when 9.0 prepatch hits (because technically Shadowlands content is live at that point, just inaccessible), or when Shadowlands actually releases?
I’ve seen this brought up in-game no more than a couple times, the only place you even hear about this “issue” is on the forum or from one of the youtube content creators that steady feed off outrage, like heelzvsbabyface. This thread doesn’t even have much motion, it’s the same posters over and over for the most part, and that’s with all the threads merged. This thread has mostly the same 6 posters over and over, you coming in at #6 and I’m at #1. There just isn’t the big deal that some players want it to be or think it is. I do know that when something is slightly important to people it can feel like it has much greater importance than it really does.
Tbf, I’ve only ever seen someone talk in game a couple times. Most communication is external now. And it would be brought up on the forums because it was confirmed on the forums, in this thread.
When prepatch hits, definitely. The more concerning vague language is
Because that’s not the same as “we will not be removing it”.
I see people talk in trade, general, and guild chat all the time. I’ve never once heard or seen this “issue” discussed in any discord I am in. This just isn’t an “issue” that seems to have ever caught on outside of heelzvsbabyface and the handful of players on the forum, tbh.
It’s almost as if only announcing it on the forums means the only people who will know about it are on the forums. If they weren’t ashamed of doing this, they would have made an announcement about it for everyone to see. Not buried in one thread.
Are people really still discussing this? I’m still not sure I understand why anyone cares.
Doubtful, players talk to players and news gets around. We aren’t some secret club where the only ones who know what we know belong to the forum club.
I only care because they wait til the last patch to say something about it.
Which they didn’t even come out and say anything, they let people datamine it
I’m sorry, I don’t get why that makes you care.
Oh, I dont know. Maybe the fact I wasted gold this expansion on other cosmetics assuming the mount would be obtainable in the future?? Hm
Now I see why this game is the way it is… it makes perfect sense.
Btw, the people who buy stuff to show it off are few and far between and look like idiots.
Most that bought brutosaur simply wanted the damn thing and also might have found the AH to be useful to them.
People like you have logic so backwards it’s astounding.
Simple, you don’t have any attachment to said subject, thereby not understanding the other persons issue. Not hard for me to understand.
Going by how few people are defending this decision? I wouldn’t need to venture very far to say that there are many more people who are against this decision than are for it.
