Looks Like the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur might Be Unobtainable In 9.0.1 (Part 1)

Yep. It’s moves like this that keep me out of Retail.

If this is the trend they want to set for the gold dump mounts going forward, that is one thing, but it should be announced from the get go, not over halfway through an expansion.

I don’t agree with the idea of making them “limited time”, but that’s the fairest compromise I can think for these mounts in the future if they are going to suddenly change that.

SAVE THE BRUTOSAURS!!!

I hope I didn’t give the impression that I, personally, feel that your feeling of disgust isn’t valid; because I feel it’s very valid.

My point is that it doesn’t matter to Blizzard and they don’t care.

Like you said - they weren’t like this, but are definitely being more consistent with a move in this direction; because they can.

We can’t stop them, even though we’ve voiced our opinions. They will continue to try new things and test to see what they can get away with to generate every ounce of profit worth the value.

Evitel said it best with the new weekly reset - This is common in the industry now.

So, I guess I’m just saying “these practices are not going away - and your energy used to voice your disgust to Blizzard means nothing to them. So save yourself that energy.”

Yes, I agree with you, too; I am just personally sad to see the company engage in practices like this one. From a business perspective, though, it does make sense.

As you’ve noted - it’s just a drop in the bucket of moves like this.

Sadly - we just need to get used to it.

Exactly this. I wouldnt be mad right now had they said from the start. I’ve wasted a lot of gold this xpac thinking I had time. Now i’m at 700k fiending for gold…

But do we need to get used to it?

I’m not saying we should be overly outraged at every little thing, but a business needs to understand how they affect their customers.

Heck, if we had just got used to Sonic’s design from the first movie trailer, it would’ve probably bombed. At least now, many people are open to seeing it or will see it because they actually listened to feedback.

I grant you the change was prompted by how much money they would get back on the film had they not decided to scrap beta Sanic, but I’d say that can apply universally to any large business.

Is the Brutosaur change beta Sanic bad? No. But it is important. Last minute changes like these shouldn’t be passively accepted. Even if you lose battle, it’s worth the fight. Otherwise, little changes like these will snowball to the point of not being able to do anything at all.

Apologies for the rant.

TDLR: Feedback is important, good and bad. Respectfully if it can be helped.

Agree all around.

The problem is that the best way to have an effect - is to unsubscribe.

Otherwise, they can just keep pushing these products and changes to continue their revenue streams.

I wish our voices mattered - but time and time again they rise when changes are detected, and time and time again Blizzard does nothing.

The minority of the time when they “listen” - is when changes usually come with a trade-off that doesn’t involve anything the players were requesting in the first place.

Pay them cash for wow tokens. That’s a huge influence to this change no matter how you slice it.

Cash grab - more revenue.

Deflate token cost - sell more tokens - more revenue.

Get people to play and grind more this next year outside of PvE/PvP - more revenue and time played.

Just pay them what they want and be quiet please.

Lol no. You can complain about a stupid change. As I type this I’m realm hoping to RP servers to get high ticket items such as chromatic sword, I’m working on gold farming but I will still complain at blizzard’s stupidity.

Who are these people, and why do they care if there the Brutosaur is available for those who want to work to obtain it? Is it the “it’s not fair crowd?”

I know r/woweconomy loves the change but I wouldnt say “many”

The problem with this argument is that you could not buy Mage Tower appearances with gold (real world currency via tokens) unless you paid someone to access your account (against tos btw).

Yeah, I was thinking something like that. Only ones who would be happy would be those with piles of gold. Like Scrooge McDuck.

Many people just seem to be more in the camp of not really agreeing to said move but aren’t really affected by it as they had no plans to spend 5 mil just for a mount that they’d probably rarely used and can just go to town and use the AH anyways.

I personally just feel that people are overreacting.

I kinda agree but I dislike the idea of them trying to slowly sneak in mounts as reasons to move tokens…

This is a vendor mount I can’t really see anything about it that would make it worthy of being limited. I have a feeling all future “gold sink” mounts will be on this timer followed by the cheaper tier after a while.

Because. It’s. Not. A. Feasible. Amount. To. Grind. Daily. For. A. Year. With. No. Notice. And. A. Destroyed. Economy.

People would care a hell of a lot less if it were actually reasonable to make gold right now, but it isn’t.

Edit: A year’s notice is not enough time. This needed to be announced at the start of the expansion. There’s be a lot less backlash if the mount were only 1-2 mil, not 5. Because that’s very much so doable for anybody doing other content in a year. I’ve done it easily; but I spend that gold on tokens because I thought this stupid mount would be available after I got my race/server changes I wanted.

Not to mention, we knew such content was going to be removed. And the time investments required for that and similar content were not nearly as steep.

I have several limited time removed stuff that took more than just running TSM and having alts in WoD/Legion. That was skill - not time investment.

I don’t think the majority of folks who already have the mount give a rat’s tail about “Exclusivity”. They just wanted the model and/or the vendor.

I think it’s a scummy move to remove anything that wasn’t announced as being time-limited when it first appeared.

I personally had a plan that allowed me to make the gold I needed in the time I have to play–it just would take me a few years. Since I can’t increase my play-time, and I don’t want to give up everything else I’m working for in WoW, I’m not going to get this mount. Note: I never cared about the AH on it, I just wanted a sauropod mount. If there were another model available without the AH, I wouldn’t care at all about this one being removed from the vendors.

This. I have the 1 mil gold chicken, I bought loads of store items and xmog for ATT%
I wouldnt be mad at all had they came out and said it at the start of the xpac.

I have every single TCG mount.
I’ve bought and sold carries. (For gold.)
I got the spider mount not long after Legion launched.

I’m with you, friend.

I should not be regretting buying services with tokens because of Blizzard’s stupid and unfounded choices, but here we are.
…at least my worgen DK looks cooler than the mount, I guess.
