That’s really defeatest. If you don’t punish a company everytime it makes a “mistake” (a.k.a. trying to set a terrible precedent to test their control over their audience) then it just leads to them pulling more and more egregious stuff. Lying back and thinking of England ain’t going to work.

This is a really bad change. I have enough gold to afford this mount right now, but it would basically bankrupt me across all my characters. I was planning on possibly picking it up next xpac once the gold inflation rises again, but now I’m being forced to buy it now or effectively never get it. That is some bad game design. Why make such artificial scarcity for a gold sink?

What are you gonna do about it? Storm their office and tell them they need to revert the changes because “We weren’t told this was gonna happen earlier?”.
Its not a defeatist opinion. If anything, people who are choosing to object over the decision without attempting to pursue the mount while they still have plenty of time to get it is the real defeatist opinion.
I disagree with the idea of moving the mount to the BMAH, but I also know that if I put the time and effort in (which I have chosen not to do all expansion), that I can probably get the mount in time.
Its Blizzard’s right to remove anything from the game they deem fit to remove, regardless of whether we agree with the decision. Its in the terms. Sorry, but legality trumps feelings.
Legality doesn’t mean we can’t express our displeasure about Blizzard decisions. Simply because they have the right to do something doesn’t mean we just shut up and take it.

why is it important that we have access to it years later?
can’t some stuff be just be cool and rare and unobtainable? like vanilla pvp gear (the stuff you can xmog that you had to have the old rank from vanilla, not the stuff you can buy at lvl 60 but won’t let you xmog)

It’s going to limit you on making gold, it’s that easy. If you won’t move and follow the gold then that’s your decision to not get the mount.
I’m not saying you can’t voice your opinion, but saying “this decision sucks because I play on a dead server” is not a defensible argument.
I’ve already said I disagree with blizzard’s decision. I just have a difference of handling the situation.

I’m also not making that argument. I’m on Stormrage, practically the NA Alliance capital. I can, and am, working on the mount literally right now as we speak in-game, and complaining on the forums about how stupid I think the decision is.

Which is fine, you have the right to voice your opinion, I was in disagreement with how some people were defending why they felt the decision should be reversed.
And I don’t think that “my server is dead and I refuse to make an alt on a better server for this” is a reasonable argument.

I never liked any of that nonsense.
Cool factor doesn’t increase by being unobtainable. And inspiring envy is boring.
Before you declare me just mad because I don’t have any. I have quite a bit of incredibly rare and or currently unobtainable items. I’ve been around for awhile. I wouldn’t be remotely upset if all of them were made available again. In fact I’d rejoice. The challenge mode gear, and mage tower appearances a huge things I want brought back for everyone.

Why? Let me fill you in: its to make Blizzard money.
Say people start grinding now to get enough gold to buy it before Shadowlands launches. And say they get close, but not quite close enough. The alternative is - buy gold tokens to sell on the AH for gold. And gold tokens cost real world money.
There is no other logical reason to do this. They leave the other items on the vendor but not this mount. No reason is given, no logical lore or story reason is obvious, no other current mount has been removed - just one that costs a crapload of gold to buy.
Another reason why I won’t be getting it, even if I wanted to.

Because no other gold sink vendor mount has been taken away from us and it’s something else.fun to work towards over the years. These were never limited time.
Why do you want more things taken out of the game?
Some stuff already is. Challenge mode PvE and Elite PvP. Nothing else should ever be ripped away from us for no reason. Storylines, legendaries, vendor mounts, etc are side projects people enjoy doing over the years.
Incorrect. Get the rank currently, you can still transmog it.

Glad I’m only 600 K away, hopefully I should ber able to get this mount. This is my MOST WANTED MOUNT of the exp, and to find out this BS is annoying. I’ve been working towards it all exp and it takes a LOT of work to get that kind of gold if you don’t play the AH, which I don’t.

I just don’t see what wrong with making items unobtainable, why does everything have to be available to everyone?
Why is the transmog yakk still available?
I think this falls under the argument with SL not having a new race or class. We had a pattern of getting new stuff almost every expansion, and because of that, most of us expected something for SL. But this clearly is not the case, and we are not guaranteed something new every expansion.
Same argument follows gold sinks. Every other gold sink still exists, but its not exactly a rule set in stone that none of them can be removed.
Its breaking a precedence that we made for ourselves that it will always be there and we’ll get it eventually. Now thats shattered and everyone is regretting the time they wasted not trying to put more effort into getting it.
IMHO It’s not worth 5mil. But that doesn’t mean it should be taken away from those who have a goal to work up towards it.
Because fun, versus unfun. Everyone having access to everything = fun. Having half the in game content time exclusive or challenge locked AND time exclusive = not fun. Exclusivity is not fun. It’s boring and uninspired.

Like I said earlier in this thread. Any reasonable person is fine with some limited time items. But most limited time items are established that they’re going to be limited time only. (MoP/WoD challenge modes, Mage Tower apperances). I wouldnt be as mad had they said at the start of the expansion “This is going to be limited time only”
I used gold on this like the dreadwake, store mounts, those transmog helmets. Had I known it was going to be limited time only I would have saved and I would have been really close to get it now.

I’d say it’s more bitterness that their long term side goals of something fun to do are being taken away.
