that and I suppose keeping a rating does not require you to play rated all the time. Can you just play a few rated matches a week and keep your rating? I’m a noob when it comes to rated pvp so i don’t know how everything works yet. But it’s all moving in the right direction for sure!
I believe you’ll be able to upgrade your conquest according to the highest rating achieved during a given season. If you touch a rating that you’re happy with, you can keep on queueing rated if you want without fear of losing the perks associated with that rating.
The deal with streamers is they are all highly invested in elite play. If they’re getting what they want, they’re going to be telling all their followers this is fantastic for PvP, which is what they were doing after the previous set of changes. They completely forgot about what a mess honor gear is going to be, because they got what they wanted, or at least they thought they were going to.
Yeah… It kinda bums me out. For a new alt it’s still going to be infinitely better to go pve. You have twice the avenues to get gear. It’s infinitely easier. It can be traded amongst everyone which is great for people with friends.
Conquest gear will still have a place but honestly honor gear is pretty useless.
Looks that way, plus your arena matches will likely give you a once a week higher piece of gear from the vault
So you’ll be 207 with maybe 213 from the vault, but you will have some time gating in the form of major honor farming and the conquest gear is time gated through its currency
The thing is, on beta, the conquest was removed from nonrated but the conquest cap was as if we were deep in the season. Also, the tooltip on conquest said it could only be earned in rated pvp. I think they changed their mind or had not made up their mind at that point.
I still don’t know what is going to happen to midseason alts. Could you imagine coming into the BG with 150 gear and trying to build an honor set when a lot of people are 210+…
It’s going to be extremely unpleasant, at best. I’ll be gearing my alts up via mythic dungeons.
How? All you have to do is spam battlegrounds.
Heroic dungeons always reward 171.
151 ilv gear is purchasable from the AH. A full set without trinkets is like 5-8k depending on your server.
Punishing people with friends.
Just like you need to win Arena and Rated BG to receive conquest.
In the time you sit your deserter buff you could be halfway through another game or have played another.
What does this even mean?
Yes, just like everybody a month before you, you must play the game.
Why should you be able to spend the most minimal time getting the gear you need/want whilst every character a month before had to spend that time gearing.
Conquest rolls over so you won’t fall behind.
This was outlined in the same blue posted quoted
That’s the key, really. Once you are done doing the stuff you don’t enjoy doing, you can spend your time doing what you do enjoy doing. With no conquest from unrated that wasn’t available.
unfortunately, until blizzard normalizes ilvl in instanced pvp, this will always be the case. ‘gearing’ through pvp has always been a meme. the only time i don’t remember this being a thing is when resil/pvp power were in the game, and even then, raids still had some BIS items for pvp.
and you still have to do content, outside of random battlegrounds, to be viable in random battlegrounds. system is bad
this ensures that the player base does not grow. it shrinks.
nothing wrong with “friends queuing” as long as they go against other people doing similar
let’s see. people dont want to sit at a graveyard being farmed by a premade. there’s no matchmaking in random bgs.
so you can quit, pve to pvp, or you can be part of the problem [pug vs premade]
It means the lowest difficulty pvp mode is a free for all in which low geared players have nooooooooooooo chance against higher geared players.
it is stupid and zero skill
So if youre a new player in blues…it’s okay to have to fight mythic raid boss level opponents to get - slightly better blue gear?
And you should be forced to die over and over and over and over and over?
No you do not. You do not need to do torghast or raids to be “viable” in random BGs lmao. And even ignoring that, this is not a PvP game. I don’t know why you’re acting like having to do something other than PvP for all rewards in the game is some kind of unexpected travesty.
No, the player base does not shrink because some nerds are throwing a fit on the forum over people playing with friends in random BGs.
They are.
Or, you know, PvP.
The important part is bolded. It’s a free for all. You queue in and whatever happens, happens. If you want to control those factors, such as gear, then do rated.
Yes. It’s always been that way. Blue gear is not end-game gear. Stop acting like it is.
But I’d add a third stipulation. We should have pvp gear buffed by 30-40 ilvl’s when in a pvp environment. To make up for the fact you shouldn’t need to be 2100+ rated to not get farmed by people in mythic raid gear. PvE gear should be lowered by 15-30 ilvl’s too. Just like this worked in WoD. Just enough to bring those 233 PvE pieces down in power when in PvP.
I’d even probably cap the maximum ilvl inside the pvp environments to like 230 or whatever. Getting 1600 or 1800 should “cap” you in a pvp environment. The reward for getting higher rating should be to bring that gear into PvE.
I want PvP to have PvP gear be a requirement not some “it’s optional” gimmick. We need to get PvP sets and wear PvP sets. I’d even raise the requirements for getting 223 pvp sets to gladiator only. Since everyone else should be getting their pve gear from pve. Which would be fine under the earlier system I proposed where you can still be ilvl capped in pvp maps without needing to get glad.
