I would never choose a video game over spending a holiday with my parents.

but I cannot say that this date choice hasn’t even further ruined the launch experience for me.

i would :stuck_out_tongue: but… my mom would call me all day …

At least bots can’t make it go out of stock as soon as it comes on the market.

Which is worse? Waiting for SL or trying to buy an RTX 30 card? The blogs for the 3070 were hilarious. “I GOT ONE… I GOT ONE… come on checkout… hurry up and process… is it timing out?? NOOOOO… IT GOT REMOVED FROM MY CART!!!”

For most people who are upset about this it’s probably about work, not getting together with family on the holiday. As I mentioned earlier I can’t call out the day before or the day after a holiday, and Thanksgiving week is one of only three weeks in the year that are almost impossible to take even a single pre-planned day off at my job.

Man, that’s not at all what I’m saying.

If they had to release it by the new date, then it is what it is and I wouldn’t be arguing. But the reality is that they don’t have to release it by November 23rd, and it would likely be more beneficial for everybody to delay it further. That’s why I’m arguing what I am. It’s completely unnecessary and easily avoidable.

My entire family are all stuck spread out around the world due to some travel limitations in various countries, so Thanksgiving will just be me and Shadowlands, lol. I will probably bake some turkey legs for myself and video chat with my sister, who will likely scold me for getting to this point in life.

So what is the reason behind Canadian Thanksgiving?

Thankfully I usually stay home for thanksgiving and game anyway, so I’m not mad.

2004 it dropped around this time. Maybe take it easy. The whole first week is going to be a fiasco anyway. Take the first week in December off.

Thanksgiving for me is typically one night with family.

And i’ll probably already be max level before then, so it’s not exactly ruining my day.

At least its not a Christmas release, then id have some issues.

Delaying it further, even by 1 week, could mean they’d have to delay season 1 of Shadowlands opening till 2021. That’s probably not fair to the rest of the world.

Since Christmas/winter holidays are definitely out of the question.

Having a day off from work

Nope because this game doesn’t take over my real life

I’m still cooking my turkey & fixins. Hubby makes the bourbon pumpkin pies. Small family gathering as usual.

Game can wait.

Well I meant the history behind it.

Blizz employees will probably make a lot of money working that week. They want their US players to be able to hit it for the 4 day weekend. Seems like good enough reason. You can be negative or positive.

Personally I think the expansion as a whole should be delayed till 2021. The beta is woefully unfinished and I highly doubt enough will be fixed by release to justify its new release date.

The funny answer is a day off work.

The real life lore answer is, celebrations of harvest and thanks occurred long before settlers left Europe.

American Thanksgiving is just celebrating the time we gave Natives diseases then killed them all after. Kind of similar to how Thanksgiving 2020 will be.
