I finally did it, I finally played Final Fantasy. As much as I didn’t want to like it… I’ve fallen in love with it. The world is beautiful, I was so immersed that leveling didn’t even feel like a grind, it felt like an adventure.
I see now what WoW has lost, WoW has become a job. Daily chores, there is no sense of wonder or adventure anymore.
FFXIV is an actual MMO with soul made by a dev who cares. Retail WoW is a single player chore treadmill made by a lawyer who just analyzes spreadsheets and makes decisions off data.
I respectfully disagree. WoW’s development team cares about the game as evidenced by their continuing delivery of amazing content and consistent response to player feedback; to say that a team, who pours their heart and soul into the game, doesn’t care about the game, just doesn’t make sense.
Yep, I wasn’t happy with retail and didn’t like how TBCC was done.
I decided to go MMO shopping. I’ve settled on FF for the immersion and the community. The game makes me feel like a part of the world etc… the questing is so much fun that I forgot I’m just leveling.
So for me being a person who has always hated the grind to max level, I’m shocked that this game makes leveling feel almost natural and fun. I don’t focus on my level and am enjoying leveling.
I love that everything scales so well. My new Free Company (Guild) can run with me even though they are max level.
Please let me know how you made it through the god awful first hour of talking to npcs.
It was awful. Like the worst time I’ve ever spent in a game in my life awful
I will try to give it another go.
But the most annoying part is I tried it a year ago and now the game won’t offer free stuff to new players so I have to do it all over again.
I legit reinstalled the game. Made a new character on my new account. Got asked to go to my first npc… and logged off remembering the last time I did it all haha
I want to really try it but God damn they need to fix their intro
Enjoy! It’s a great game. It’s extremely heavy on cutscenes, and it does story telling very very well. I play both WoW and FFXIV, FFXIV is my rainy day game, where I kick back with a controller and enjoy the story and scenes.
With WoW I play a video game not watch/read a story.
Pretty bad, not getting paid to speak on behalf of the game and still speaking about it must speak volumes to how much some people seem to be enjoying FFXIV.
Hilarious you had to come back and share this with us , guess ff14 wasn’t that fun if you’re already back on the wow forums over being on the ff14 forums
Also did you like skip the 100’s of other mmorpg out there and went straight for the sheep puller of the moment , ff14 ?
