Looks like I was wrong

You have to get past ARR and it’ll be better. They cut down the amount of ABC NPCs so it might be better if you tried now.

Yeah, I definitely feel you on that lol. Doing the whole city intro thing I was like what is this… but then I was like okay let me try to get past this.

It’s much more enjoyable walking around the open world to random hubs and quests if you don’t feel like doing the main story right away.

Who knows though, maybe you won’t like it you know? I didn’t look at it as a comparison to WoW but as a Final Fantasy game that happened to be online which also helped

THEY will inform you what is fun and what isnt :+1:
You just keep that sub paid in full and buy lots of game store crap too :+1:

Yes but it’s about how are the chores integrated. They can be fun and adventurous or dull and monotonous.

yeah…they no comprende on this particular point.

i went through the same journey myself when i first stepped into FFXIV, though going into it i was a bit of a fan of FF (7, and the Tactics games), but not as much as i loved the WC games.

i hope WoW can get its soul back that way i can play two truly amazing MMO’s.

Basically, yes lol

wait, are there people getting paid? i need to get in on that action

It’s main after that. Yea that part of the game sucks. However they do that to introduce new players to the game.

For a lot of MMO vets it’s just silly. The other thing I hate is the “training” crap for running dungeons.

Yes some people don’t understand the basics of dungeons but for experienced players that was murder!

Oh yeah totally.
As bad as it sounds, I just made my character the first time because my cat dude was hot as all hell lol.
I wasn’t trying to replace wow

Hello, I am indeed being serious. Do you not agree that 9.1 is likely one of the best patches ever released? In a single patch, we got:

-A new zone
-Covenant assaults
-Revamped Torghast (somehow they made an already fantastic feature even better - it boggles my mind)
-Many more cosmetics
-A new 10-boss raid
-Megadungeon
-Flying without Pathfinder

Are these not things that the community asked for? Is this not a very large and feature-rich patch? 9.1 was delivered to us in the midst of a pandemic as well - the development team really, really, really did a stellar job getting all of this to us, and I am extremely grateful for what they have done.

That’s awesome lol

Eventually you’ll tire of FF just as you have WoW and other games. Why?
Because once you get to know something, the shine wears off after a while.
Happens with everything, everyone. Generally the basic cause of divorce, too.

Yeah and I still don’t want to play it to replace wow. I reinstalled because I think I could have fun with both.

Just got to make it through that first part.

No idea what my character is though as the game never told me.

Lots of issues with FF but I’m certain once you know what’s what, the game is fun

No…the illicit drugs I took in the 70s havent destroyed enough brain cells to make me think this patch was anything more than laughably pathetic, lol

I understand, we are all entitled to our own views and while I disagree with yours, I still respect it nonetheless. Have a blessed afternoon and enjoy your continued journeys in Azeroth.

Right. And that is what it is. If you are a fan of FF, you will like FF14. If you are not really a fan of FF, it’s less the case. I was never a FF player (I have dabbled with a few of them in the past … never liked it very much), so FF14 has never been appealing to me, despite having tried to play it like 4 times over the course of its life. Other people who are FF fans to begin with will like FF14, which is not surprising to me.

Probably not wrong! Suppose I’ll enjoy it while it lasts then

After you get through the beginning I think pressing the escape key will give you the option to bypass most of the story telling. I don’t use it often myself, because I enjoy it.

Be careful though, after you log in a primal may form and render you enthralled…
