Apologies for length, but I figured the more specific I could be, the more likely I’ll find what I’m looking for.

Currently, my wife and I play on Farstriders/ThoBro/Silver Hand, Horde-side. We’ve done a bit of guild hopping over the past few years trying to find what we want in a guild and our current ‘home’ seems to be fizzling out. The challenge is we don’t see much in the way of viable alternatives.

With that in mind, we’re seriously considering the possibility of moving mains and starting over on a new server. Farstriders, even with the server merges, seems pretty low population, which makes me feel like we don’t have much in the way of options there. However, if there’s a guild there that meets our needs, we’d be happy to look into it; we’re not dead set on moving servers.

What I’m looking for:

  • A laid back social guild. To clarify: We’re not interested in a hardcore raiding guild or a hardcore M+ pushing guild but we’re fine with a guild that raids or does M+ runs (either of us might be up for some light raiding and would like to run mythics). Conversely, a guild that exclusively exists for green text and does nothing else would probably not interest us. In other words, we want a guild with options but not obligations regarding what content we’re expected to do.
  • A mature guild. By mature I mean, roughly, 30+. We’re well past college and firmly “adulting” at this point, and would like to play with folks in the same boat. I also don’t mean “family friendly” where people need to avoid curse words and whatnot.
  • Ideally, a guild with enough active online players that it’s relatively easy to get an adhoc group together for dungeons more often than not. If possible, a guild with ample active players online during the day as well since my wife is often online during the day.
  • A guild in a US time zone. CST ideal, EST a great runner up.
  • A guild welcoming of copious amounts of alts with no strings attached. Even if we end up transferring to a new server, I am confident both of us will balloon out our roster of toons quite quickly.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the type of guild we’re looking for is also the type of guild that typically won’t be paying attention to these forums or actively recruiting, so even if the only feedback you have is some ideas on who else to contact, I’ll take it.

TL;DR: Looking for social and active guild with members 30+ in age and cool with many alts.

Ah, hello, fellow altoholic! I think our guild is the sort of place you and your wife are looking for! We’re Aegis, an alliance guild on Galakrond-US (merged with Blackhand - CST,) and we’ve been playing together here since 2009. We like to think of ourselves as a social guild that likes to raid (early and often!) rather than a raiding guild, as our primary goal has always been to create a home for our members where our relationships with other players are celebrated AND our various adventuring itches are scratched. We’ve spawned more than one real life marriage, (my own included, I married one of our raid leaders five years ago, with many guildies in attendance) and many of our members have met up irl over the years, and continue to do so now. (My spouse and I, east coasters, keep threatening to visit our Montana friends. We haven’t followed through yet, but there’s still time!)

Currently we have three heroic focused raid groups, at a variety of times, as our time zones vary as much as our members do, and a casual, open-invite drunk raid. We are primarily an alliance retail guild, however, we do have outposts for both retail horde and classic (horde, Pagle) and have been utilizing bnet chat to keep the green chat alive across the multiple facets of gameplay. (And so you can easily say, “yo, doing a 6 Key, anyone want to go?” and the folks who are leveling horde alts or playing classic don’t get left out!) All of our focused raiding happens on alliance retail, but we’ve enjoyed alt horde raids in the past, usually during the end of the expansion content drought. Our investment in classic is largely vacationland in nature - we’re tourists to an older world, but not planning to emigrate. If either of you end up wanting to join a regular team, I’d love to tell you about the options, some are more flexible than others, but there’s never any obligation to raid!

We have plenty of non-raiding members - we do a fair amount of M+ and have a serious alt habit (I’m working on all my heritage armor alts, naturally…) as well as some committed achievement hunters. We keep in touch outside of the game as well, dabbling in other games, chatting on Discord, entertaining each other in Slack through the work day and we’re always excited to support members who have new ideas for group activities. We are an adult guild (I try to avoid saying mature - we’re all solidly into adulting territory, but mature… might be a stretch.) Our average age somewhere in the upper 30s (based on the totally unscientific guild chat approach to polling…) and we all have real lives and other interests, which we like sharing those with our guild family as well.

Heya

I run a guild on Area-52 that is a small community that has a fair number of friends of our raiders around, so we have people who never raid, some that just come to our alt runs, some that run some mythic+s, and some that raid casually on our heroic-only team. We’re an adult guild with a few couples, folks with kids, work, all the normal adulting stuff. I’d love to talk to you about my guild. I’m with Karma Horde on Stormreaver (CST). We’ve been around for nearly 10 years and at our core we are a community-oriented social guild that also has heroic and mythic raiding teams. We offer a casual beginner/learning raid on Friday nights.

Most of our members are in or approaching their 30s. We have a strong code of conduct that does not tolerate toxic or hateful behavior.

Each raid tier, we’ll have several opportunities to complete the raid meta achievements for the mount. In previous expansions, we’ve helped our members farm up the Garrosh heirloom weapons, the AOTC mounts, The Chosen achievement, and in Legion we farmed up 30 Mythic Guldan mounts.

We have lots of raiders running mythic+ each week on their mains and alts. Speaking of alts, we have so many alts that we had to make a second guild to hold them all. Hey Lochost, you are already on Thrall at least with one toon, so that is half the battle. I would like to invite you to check out Tom Sellecks Mustache on Thrall. We are an Adult Normal/Heroic raiding guild that I think hits all the points you mentioned.

I came over from Alliance and another server, but the cost was so worth it! This is the most fun I have ever had in a guild. All I had to do was listen to them raid in Discord, and I knew I had found my home. Such a great community, there is always someone online, the people are friendly and helpful, and no one yells when you make a mistake.

I come from many years of progressive raiding but really got burned out and wanted a guild that was much more of a relaxed environment. I found that with TSM, I really enjoy raiding again. No one gets mad or rages, we just laugh and have fun while we raid.

Hello Lochost et al : ) After reading your post, I’d say we meet most of your expectations. We are a mature, adult guild who run most content. Yes, our core raid team is mythic progression but we have a wide variety of souls whose focus is outside of progression raiding. We are located on Stormrage (EST) which is the largest pve server there is. And we openly welcome as many alts as folks want to have. Looking forward to hearing from you!

<The Veil> 3/8M 8/8H is a raiding guild on Stormrage-US. We aim to push progression within a competitive 2-day (6 hour) schedule while still maintaining a fun and positive atmosphere. We treat each other with respect, seek high performance, excellent game-play and a positive attitude. Drama and toxic behavior are not tolerated here.

Raiding only 2 nights a week means we want our players to be the best they can be. Our members have families, careers, and studies, so we need to take the 6 hours we spend together seriously.

We also run Mythic + most days of the week. For some of us pushing high level keys is our primary WoW focus, but we also strive to make sure our raiders are getting their capped weekly rewards.

Raid Schedule:

Tuesday: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm (EST/server time)
Thursday: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm (EST/server time)

Optional: Monday: 5pm – 8pm “Alt”/fun run on re-clears & lower difficulty (pending participation)

You must be able to reliably make the core raid nights with near 100% attendance. Real life does occasionally hit even the most reliable raider, all we ask is for as much notice as possible.

Current Needs:

We strive for an environment that takes the challenges of mythic raiding seriously while giving the content the respect it deserves. Our aim is, as all mythic teams, full clear of content but with always keeping the friendly spirit of camaraderie alive. We do not require mythic raid experience to join our team but we do expect mythic-level dedication and accountability from all of our raiders. You must be able to take constructive criticism and have ownership over your level of play, and be willing to put in the effort to be a contribution to the team.

We want someone that is going to put forth their best effort. This means knowing your class inside and out, coming to raid prepared with food, flask, runes, re-roll tokens, knowledge of upcoming encounters and your role within them. We are looking for someone who can think on their own and follow a strategy without being constantly reminded throughout the encounter.

Heals – preference for Holy pally

Ranged DPS – all (preference for boomkin, ele sham, warlock)

Melee DPS – all (preference for rogue, WWmonk, ret paly)

Tanks – back-up tank (preference for dk, paladin, warrior)

Exceptional players of any class should always feel free to apply. Our roster is somewhat flexible so we will never turn away a great player. We just want the best 20+ people in our raid so we can progress.

What we expect from you:

** Discord and a working mic is a requirement **

  • Be punctual, reliable, and competent
  • Have a good attitude towards raiding. While we do our best to have fun, our goal is to use our time efficiently and effectively.
  • Have the ability to take constructive criticism. We all make mistakes but repeating mistakes is the bane of progression. Understand your mistakes, learn from them and fix them.
  • Bring consumables: We expect raiders to bring flasks, potions, and some food in case we don’t provide feasts. While we may not pre-pot or food buff on initial pulls, it is expected that during serious attempts, all raiders are maximizing their output.

Our trial period is 2-3 weeks and in that time we consider a several factors - Performance, Situational Awareness, and Fit/Attitude/Attendance. Performance is your output (DPS/healing/threat). Situational Awareness is your ability to not take unnecessary damage and correctly execute fight mechanics. Fit/Attitude/Attendance is how well you fit in with the guild, your outlook on raiding, and your reliability in raids.

While raiding isn’t everything, we do raid Fridays and Saturdays- 8PM - 11PM server time (Mountain Time) which is 7-10 pacific and 9-12 eastern.

Hey there Lochost. Hopefully this finds you, and your wife well. I don’t know if you’ve found a place to call home yet, but if you haven’t it sounds like both of you would be an excellent fit with Windchill.

We call Thrall our home server, and are a pretty laid back guild. mostly focusing on M+ and other such things as RBG’s, and mog runs, with a little Achievement farming thrown in. We’re by no means averse to raiding, we just haven’t really made it that far yet.
