DPS should get a rework to give them better sustain, mitigation, and group utility (like current iteration nimble brew and blessing of sanctuary) so playing without a healer can be possible. Then allow DPS only lobbies.
Healers should be reworked to be like tanks. Compared to DPS they’d have higher self sustain, lower damage, more control, but no more healing on allies than any hybrid DPS.
I’m going to bring my new alt holy spec priest healer into solo shuffle with only dps and self heals. I don’t care about rating. I just want quick queues and to troll the dps who waited 20+ minutes only to see me, the dps holy priest healer in their match going 0-6 or maybe 2-4 a few times!
I might choose the new improved Lightwell for more pvp solo shuffle trolling. I can just tell all the complainers the new improved lightwell buff is awesome. Just wait and see!!!
first of all, because as healer queuing into Solo shuffle if you don’t win 3/6 games you basically are just wasting your time unless your goal was honor gain.
As a dps, you have more chances of winning a round then as a healer. Im not sure how to better explain the reasoning for this, but its simple odds. As a healer its pretty much you trying to challenge the other healer, while using a random line up of the dps that were selected to join.
But again, 3/6 wins or you get no conquest gains and as a healer the odds seem less favorable than opposed to queeuing as dps and being randomly swapped teams each round.
The squeaky wheel doesn’t get the grease. The squeaky wheel gets replaced. Egoing out as a healer, threatening to quit, bragging about melee “enjoy ur que timez XD” etc will just lead to the eventual deprecation of mandatory healers in PvP. Games will just become 3v3 dps, or 2v2 dps - with healers treated as outliers like tanks and only match them against each other.
So what’s worse: Playing the same game for the same rewards that costs the same monthly subscription fee as everyone else progressing at the same rate for winning/losing and even being given bonus conquest/etc for doing so – or having your role completely invalidated because you cried too much ?
We already know blizzard is not going to add anything to make healers que more. This season is already trashed & they know that. The tier sets are a major problem for most classes. That’s why they are completely redesigning them for next season.
Your are totally right, sadly the only way to solve long queue times is to incentive healers to q. I would rather prefer shorter queue times ( ++games ) than a 60 minute wait time for a game, not all the casual players have 60+ minutes to wait for a game.
I think you’re missing the most realistic, inevitable, and logical option: to remove the requirement of healers to queue for everyone else to play.
2v2, and 3v3 DPS only games would be just fine. Healers should have never been mandatory in PvP, because all of PvP has to be balanced around healers at that point.
I don’t feel entitled, I’m simply not playing RSS. If Blizzard/the playerbase wants to dream up rewards so good that I’ll queue RSS in spite of not liking it, that’s their business.
However, if Blizzard reads these forums, Ive got 7 geared healer alts. Ill agree to queue 5 hours of RSS a week for the next 2 months if you ban classic posters, and lvl10 hidden account posters. Except Rombell and Eorc, they can stay.
I wonder if people who think this idea is outrageous realize that Call to Arms bags were added to dungeon finder over a decade ago to deal with the problem of not enough tanks and healers wanting to do Cata heroics with randoms
I find it more amusing that a few posters frantically threaten healers with ‘being made obsolete’ if we don’t bend to their will to queue content we don’t like.
Most of the time if you go 3-3 you don’t gain rating. Unless your lobby mmr is higher than yours it’s no net change.
The issue for healers, is if one dps goes 0-6, both healers go 3-3. It’s brutal to climb if you have a bad player or really bad spec for the lobby. Sometimes you can make a play as a healer but that’s not as frequent given the way RSS works and how quick dampening ramps.
