“We’re actively discussing the best options to incentivize more healers to queue for Solo Shuffle” -Kaivax 2022-12-16
are you still discussing this? it has been hell of a long discussion, can you please put call to arms to solo shuffle just like it works for PvE content, while you finish discussing it? tyvm
Still don’t understand why healers feel they’re entitled to more for participating in the same content, for the same rewards, in the same game, with the same bracketing as everyone else.
You aren’t. You don’t deserve anything extra for clicking the one that says healer no more than anyone deserves anything extra for clicking the one that says damage.
It’s hard to take the healer community seriously when they come with faux threats of “give me more rewards or I quit!”; because that quickly becomes a slippery slope of understanding all you have to do is threaten to quit in order to get your way. Everyone would prefer you just quit than be in some weird manipulation situation over it.
State of pvp is rough—>Healers get punished hard in ss—->Healers give up—>healer shortage. The only incentive to playing ss for a healer is quick q time.
Bottom line, ss as a mode does not feel good to play. It’s the Wild West. I love that it’s a place for people to casually get into pvp but it has so many negative effects on the game as a whole.
I don’t think this is the case at all, but solo shuffle is asking to have 1 healer for every 2 dps, is impossible to have a 33% population of healers, I guess is because it’s not that fun … so while they make it fun at least they should give some incentive when there is low participation
that how call to arms work in PvP they need people, there is no people queuing, so you offer to help as a tank or healer so the other people can play some specific content and you get a little bit of gold.
this happens because not every 1out of 10 players is a main tank but we can tank if they give us some incentive … same happens on PvP not 1 of every 3 players is a main healer but they would heal with a little incentive
That or we have no healer matches. These would be awful but fast and queue times would be short. Everyonce in a while the dps would get a healer match. It will still be awful.
2v2s shuffle with no healers doesn’t sound bad at all, the problem with that is that blizzard would actually have to balance the classes and I don’t see that happening any time soon
They need to look back another 10 years imo. Add a fountain of healing to every 2s dps match. Have it block LOS. Have it provide some healing, enough to fight over, but not enough to outright negate damage overall. Let fights start, develop, and end, as opposed to just end at the end of my cds. (it could also just be a non-los’ing puddle of water on the ground of the arena that slowed movement for the sake of stopping goose chases, idk, whatever works)
There are great arena mobas that have existed that had 0 rng and didnt rely on healing like bloodline. I would want them to start there. At this point there really isnt any reason theh can have a full pvp devolpment team that takes what the classes do in pve and make redisgn or balance them for pvp. They just dont want to spend the money to do it.
But with a League mmo being announced which i hope balances the players tools and damage around pvp then creates pve around those kits rather than the other way around, there is a good chance bliz will have some real competition soon. Especially if that company keeps its norma business model and the game is free.
sounds like a really fun 2v2s no healers instant queues, it wouldn’t hurt to try, I say we should give it a go and see what happens, instant queues instant fun just by logging in sounds like a dream and if they balance the game around modes that do not need to force healers into it, could be really fun!
it’s probably gonna release mid 2024 so is still 14~18 months away so is something around 250 USD we are gonna keep paying to blizz so the least we can do is make it worth
that doesn’t sound bad either if it’s the same AI for both teams no one should never be able to blame the healer for anything, but the AI should be able to keep up with 1500 CR players and 3000+CR players … but sounds like a plausible solution IMO
Healers are the problem. If tanks were holding the game hostage and causing bottlenecks like this, everyone would be rallying to remove tanks from PvP. Since so many DPS rely on a healer to live longer than 10 seconds, they’re defended no matter how much trouble they cause for PvP. Stockholm syndrome moment.
