Long Topic

I dont give to craps if you report me genius, posting history is there for a reason, and it has a lot to do with the topic in terms of credibility with the talking point.

If you cant even figure out if you want shortened travel time or not why would you want to just get rid of it simply because you cant stay consistent with what you want?

Your complaint is from everything I can tell, a whim.

Flying and then LFG and then phasing and then warmode ruined the game for me.

Four terrible things that when combined make the world a shallow, empty and dreadfully boring place to play.

The danger and community are just dead and gone now and it feels awful.

Nice projecting, the world content itself is already by design for flight.

I welcome fliers to keep sitting here and denying and deflecting and insisting there’s no problems with flight. See you on the ground next expansion.

Classic is there for you!

So origina! I am so impressed, you are so amazing and honestly I think I should give you the gold medal.
You must be so proud of yourself for coming up with such a eloquent and clever response.

I didn’t come up with it though. Ion did.

So can I get the latest war campaign in classic yet?

You could always just not use your flying mount if it is that important. Nothing is forcing you to use it, have some self-control.

You could always just not play in content without flying if it is that important. Nothing is forcing you to play flightless content, have some self-control.

This is the same way you would feel with and without flying.

I do however support this if you don’t want to fly I don’t see any reason not to create fly mode off servers. A similar idea to the warmode thing.

I do play flightless content. Maybe if I was trying to get flight enabled in raids and BGs you could make that argument, but that isn’t the case now is it?

The problem wasn’t flying is bad. The problem is that Blizzard makes it so hard to attain.

Not what I said.

you could just not read or reply to threads like these. Nothing is forcing you to read this or reply, have some self control.

The point I’m trying to make is to not talk about your own personal beliefs as if they reflect everyone else’s. “Flying ruined this game” is an OPINION, of which I do not share.

I used to play a lot of The Sims, and when I did I also sometimes visited their official forums. I remember once someone on there was complaining about the cheat codes, and saying they should be removed because they made the game too easy and not fun. When some of us pointed out they could just not use the cheat codes and challenge themselves to do things the “proper” way (as most of us did), they responded that they couldn’t not use them, and that EA/Maxis needed to remove them so players like them wouldn’t be “tempted”.

The thing is–those cheat codes weren’t just there to give you an advantage in gameplay (however one determines that in an open sandbox-style game like Sims), they were also there as shortcuts for people who had already done the difficult stage 1 and stage 2 of whatever they were trying to accomplish. When you’ve already played the game the “proper” way and gotten all your sims to the top of all the career tracks and bought them nice things, things like the money cheat were useful if you just wanted to, for example, play with the architectural aspects rather than going through all the earlier rigmarole (“grinding”, if you will) again.

The cheats also helped in creating visual tableaus and effects that would have been far more difficult, if not impossible, without them. People would use these cheats and then take screenshots in order to create stories which could then be uploaded to the Sims site for others to see.

But if the annoyed poster had had their way, those cheats would have been gone. No more cool scrapbook stories, no more flexibility in game play for people who had already done the intro stuff a million times…all because some weak-willed individual insisted on their lack of restraint being catered to at the expense of others.

You wanting something doesn’t mean it is good for the game.

Nope. Last time I checked we have flying. What you want is your cheatcodes within the first month of play. In fact the way flying works currently is actually more in line with your Sims example than the people here’s idea of flying is.

Also, I’ve said many times I don’t want flying gone, I want it balanced. Apparently a real compromise is unreasonable.
“My way or the highway” - people currently not getting their way.

Yes, we have flying (more or less) because–as with The Sims–people like you didn’t get their way.

The cheat codes came with each game/expansion, they weren’t time-gated and didn’t require any kind of grinding. Just like flying should be.

Sounds like terrible game design to me.
