Long Gap Between End and Start of S6 to S7?

I could be wrong here, as I’m just going by Classic arena ends and starts, but is this gap between S6 (ending 5/29) and S7 (starting 6/22) seems the longest it’s ever been. If I can recall, we just had the one week of intermission between seasons before the new one started.

Why have the season end so early if we are going to have a three week gap between the seasons? Going to be a boring three weeks for some (including myself).

My guess is they initially planned to have the Phase 3/S7 start before 6/22. Then they had to delay, either because of issues with the patch found on the PTR or because of marketing (not overlapping as much with D4 / to overlap with some other game).

Rather than make new posts saying they were extending the current season which would confuse some people and draw complaints from others, they just left it where it was and extended the break between seasons.

That is a valid point, but they knew when D4 was launching. For me it strengthens my and others to feel that the Classic Wrath community is the last on their lists for servicing.

It’s common sense of not releasing a new phase the same week or two of D4 release.

Sure, but the WoW people may not have cared, or maybe this date was picked long ago (maybe even before D4 had its date), so they just went along with their existing schedule for the season to end, made the posts, etc–and then marketing comes in and overrules them. We’ll never know for sure.

I don’t think many think otherwise. It’s a finished product and any changes made are pretty small. I don’t think it was ever intended to have a lot of support. It was an easy cash grab which I’m fine with tbh.

If you thought s7 was going to start at the same time as D4 releasing well i dont know what to tell you. There has always been 30 days between the ptr ending and the content releasing.

Maybe the long gap is to get more $ from people buying D4 make the pvprs bored so they buy D4.
